Re: CIV 0 : 1 ALG
Bros, if there was no sweeping going on, then why would the player have to jump over the keeper? Did the keeper get any part of the ball?charlie wrote:There was no sweeping a player off his feet as you said. That never happened.maceo4 wrote:The things you read on CE I swear, keeper comes and completely sweeps a player off his feet getting nothing on the ball and its a dive lmao...txj wrote:Are u serious?charlie wrote:Hmm, God dey! That was a borderline penalty (looked more like a dive to me).
But thank God, ball no dey lie.
He barely touched the player. In fact, the player jumped over the keeper and left a trailing leg to initiate the contact.
I get the penalty call, but for me, the Algerian initiated it, not the keeper.
In anycase, all that means nothing as it didnt matter.

How could the keeper get the ball, the Algerian kicked the ball out of the path of the keeper.

GK completely missed the ball, which is why I get why VAR gave the penalty.maceo4 wrote:Bros, if there was no sweeping going on, then why would the player have to jump over the keeper? Anyway sha, make we watch game. This Algerian team is not bad.
But I have to admit, CIV look very disorganized defensively in this game (and in the Mali game as well).

why did Boundji step out of the way; he was NOT offsides...

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Finally!!!
Nice individual goal!
This CIV team reminds me a lot of Cameroon.

Re: CIV 0 : 1 ALG
All these CIV and Ghanaian players running with "fast legs" and going anywhere. At least Ghana had some skill associated with it in the past. If these new versions are meant to show determination and drive, they will play into the hands of any well organized team... simply wait for them to tire out and literally run out of ideas.

Re: CIV 0 : 1 ALG
Exactly, the keeper came for the ball but didn't get it b/c the attacker got to it first and put it around him and the keepers momentum swept through the player who's only option would be to jump out of his way but if he does that he lose the chance to get to the ball and score, so its a clear PK...balo wrote:maceo4 wrote:Bros, if there was no sweeping going on, then why would the player have to jump over the keeper? finally the overrated Algerian defense has been breached.
Re: CIV 0 : 1 ALG
Very entertaining game
Re: CIV 0 : 1 ALG
Very little proper defending going on here; esp by CIV

Balo is clueless on that pk call. Definitely a pk.maceo4 wrote:Exactly, the keeper came for the ball but didn't get it b/c the attacker got to it first and put it around him and the keepers momentum swept through the player who's only option would be to jump out of his way but if he does that he lose the chance to get to the ball and score, so its a clear PK...balo wrote:maceo4 wrote:Bros, if there was no sweeping going on, then why would the player have to jump over the keeper? Great fun game, open and end to end stuff.
But for me, CIV look more likely to concede another than Algeria
