Gini needs to switch on his Holland hat. He gets into good position but doesn’t even look to shoot. United counter always dangerous. We are way too hesitant and Salah and Trent in the right need to up their game. Salah losing the ball too easily and too many hopefuls crosses from Trent. Hope we don’t wait till 80 minutes to bring Mane in. Interesting 2nd half coming up. Come on RedMen! YNWA....

Easy to win 1 title in 5 years when you get penalties every game from a diver!  Since they stopped giving them penalty, they cant win a game! Shows you that these cheats would never have won but for the penalties. After all, Ranieri and the loser Dalglish won the league once. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

@Tx, very interesting debate brewing in Cyberspace re: Thiago Ala-Jan Molby. Scathing synopsis by Dietmar Hamman, surely tinged with a bit of German bias. For all the talk of inefficiency in the counter press, there’s need for context, Liverpool’s midfield more often than not, has been missing key cogs. Fabinho’s a big miss, so too Jordan Henderson. Thiago would fair better with either, or, throw Wijnaldum into the blender too and it’s obvious how patched up their side is at present. Some quarters are arguing this is another case of the Verons, would argue otherwise.

With the width that comes from the fullbacks and the inverted runs of Mane and Salah, whilst awaiting Jota’s return and given Firmino’s form, a switch from the 4-3-3 might be in order.

You go wait taya!

TxJ is in turmoil and has gone into his case, withdrawn and on bed rest! Imagine Benitez being humiliated out of China, Liverpool being humiliated at Old Trafford and unable to even prostitute themselves for a win. Give the chap a few more days to come to his senses. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Looks like Liverpool is receiving all the bad form they should have gotten in the last two seasons at this moment. Well next up is Spurs. With the kind of useless finishing and offensive play I saw yesterday from the Spurs front line - all of them (Bale, Kane, Son, Vinicius, Moura, Lamela), one doesn't even know who will win.

@Cris, the areas in which Liverpool are lacking form is concerning. The fullbacks are quintessential to the attack, both Robertson and TAA have been underwhelming, which in effect, turns the heavy metal football into a soft-core kick about with Michael Bouble. Firmino's form is a concern, he's gone full Shola Ameobi, not only revelling in the non-scoring role, but excelling in doing nothing much, if anything at all. They need to change it tactically. Henderson's needed back in the midfield, Fabinho too, but clearly that's not possible, given the defensive options. Pushing Thiago further forward is an option, decent returns in an AMC role at Bayern. Where's Naby Keita? Can Oxlade rediscover his centre-mid form of a few seasons back?

Klopp has some decisions to make, more of the same and its hard to see how they get just deserves vs the inevitable low block and counter by Mourinho.

I had thought at some point it would make sense to go with the two youngsters in CD and restore the MF balance, with Fab, Thiago and Hendo; possibly break the front trio and add a MF further upfield.

Its not about Thiago per se, but the adjustments that were already planned wrt his acquisition and having to do that with a patched up MF.

Team's obviously not playing well, but the woe is thou thing is a little overstated...given the proper context.
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp
