Referee was horrible. Athletico used every dark arts and ref fell for it. Tie still open. Hope Klopp will trust Keita a little more. He is made for games like this. We had so much of the ball, he could have been the difference. Hope Mane is ok. I thought Athletico hot in his head.

Chief, don't be so sure. If there is any team that can defend a 1:0 lead over two legs, it is Atletico. Did Liverpool get a shot on target? Does anyone know? Klopp needs to sit down with his coaching team and work out ways to pry open this defence. He took too long to remove Salah, who is showing himself to be a very ordinary player, sometimes worse than ordinary. He gets the ball, I look away because he does not disappoint me, and he spoils the play by either holding onto the ball too long, or making a bonehead pass. I taya for Salah.

Understand he might have had a slight fever going in...

It will be a tough game at Anfield. But I think its clear what to expect from them. Hopefully we get a more experienced ref...

Needed to move the ball quicker, but I wont be surprised if Simeone monkeyed-up the pitch a bit :rotf:

Plus the movement was not as sharp.

Thought VVD was a bit off pace...

But credit Atleti, they defended quite well.

Missed the game but fully expect Liverpool to play better in the 2nd leg.

Mané was subbed as Klopp felt Atletico were trying to get him sent off.

ohsee, I hear your frustrations with Salah....

We were too ordinary in the middle. We need to go 4231 and get Keita in there. But coach settles for the 0-1 it seems. We need to go all out with the power of Anfield. Took Fabinho a little bit to get into the game

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Keita, Mane, Salah, Firmino

Subs: Adrian, Lovren, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Lallana, Origi, Matip

Best available team. Milner out, muscle strain, love Keita starting. He more than anyone else needs to kick on. If he does, we can be better. Let’s go get em RedMen! YNWA......

Not sure why this game was played at such a frenetic level. Had control but never the kind of sustained composure one has come to expect.

Wonder why West Ham never played like this at City, a week ago...

...Liverpool survived a scare today.
Note to small teams, if you score and take lead vs a bigger side prepare to defend, defend and defend, because they will come at you relentlessly.

He do’s energy was missed. I am worried about Keira’s lack of energy. Gomez weakness for me his heading. Otherwise he is perfect with the high line we play. We won this with the help of Anfield. West Ham won’t go down.

Gomez and Keita injures. Keita needs to figure out what is wrong with him. The way he was running last game made me think he was protecting something. Let’s hope Lovren got his customary mistakes out of the way the last game he played. We go again RedMen! YNWA......

Emphatic beating to lose the undefeated season. Liverpool just off the pace today.

What a terrible Liverpool performance. But take nothing away from Watford. From the first minute they were on Liverpool like white on rice and Liverpool seemed quite uninterested in doing anything about it. The score line may not reflect the teams but it certainly does the day.
