Very poor first half. Keita, Gini poor in midfield. Others not much better.

Can’t stand Madrid but this man is a rock in the center of the park.

very lucky to get away with only three goals tbh...

every decision by Klopp tonight turned out wrong.

Team lacking in energy for pretty much the game...

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

At this level, Trent defending has to be better. If it isn’t, then move him to right side midfield. Can still give us what he gives a la Debrune. You tach young kids that you defend inside 1st, how he keeps reaching out and leaving such a wide gap between him and he CB game after game is worrying. Improved his positional play in 2nd half. Mane works hard but he has been terrible lately.

Too many poor performers all-round. I don't think of our players came out of the game with any credit with the exception of maybe Salah

Agree with Klopp the ref appeared to have a beef against Sadio. How he allowed a clear foul on him by Vasquez and then Madrid scored from the counter...

I think Liverpool still has a very good chance to progress; 3-1 isn't insurmountable and Liverpool did get an away goal.
