Stunning....

Great work by Frankie de Jong
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Even I can score Son's goal.

But that kind of back heel...?

Both games were good exhibits of each league.

...if you know anything about football kicking, you will know a back heel, or bicycle kick towards the goal that goes in is a lucky strike. Goalkeepers are weak at stopping it.
Son's goal has all the attribute of skill and speed and deception to go past all most the entire opponent and score.
Maradona did it a world cup match, I believe against England, dribbling half of his opponents to score.

Son’s goal was great but that defense was a sight to behold. That defense is worse than Arsenal’s with David Luiz and Socratis.

Suarez’s goal was better no matter how you slice it. And saying backheels or bicycle kicks are just luck shows you don’t know much about the playing part of the game.

People always talk about defense when a goal like Son's is scored. You can fault defense for any goal.
Son's goal doesn't happen often. Ronaldo, Weah and Son. They tried to tackle. Most times someone would have committed a rash tackle or take one for the team. Burnley were honest in their tackles and mindful of a red.
Son skipped past the tackles and when the ball seem to favour Burnley defenders, he applies the booster and get to it before them. It is a brilliant goal with a lot of acres from where he collected the ball and slalom his way, over 70m to tuck it away. This is not a one skill in the box to bamboozle the keeper.
I don't rate one over the other but don't cheapen Son's goal

Messi has been scoring other worldly goals week in week out this season, but we haven't bothered talking about them mostly because we're tired. Son scores and we've been calling him Sonaldo Nazario, you Spurs fans need to stop the crying, you're the big boys now act like it.

Messi has only scored 2 or 3 like this. Come to think of it I don't think he has even done one from the edge of his box.

No one is cheapening the goal. It is a great goal no doubt but the defenders didn’t cover themselves in glory either. My main contention was the use of luck to describe backheels and bycycle kicks goals.

Most times, someone amongs those defenders will take a yellow to stop that run. They were worried about getting a card. Son is fast and those defenders should know better.

As for the 2 goals, the Suarez goal was better for me.

I meant Messi has been scoring wondergoals all season and people have largely ignored them partly because praising Messi has become boring.

Not all box to box runs are equal.
And not all back heels are the same. That Suarez back heel was OoTW!

A 17yr old, Theo James Walcott had an even better box to box run for Arsenal.
