@BeniTx, have been wailing at the wind. Much to discuss and debate about the tacticology of the beautiful game. Cancelo vs Chelsea. And will the Saudis be content with Josep Bruciola?

Don’t know whether you’ve ever been to the North east, but football worship up there is something else.
I worked in the area many years ago and couldn’t believe how embedded into the local culture and every day life football was.

It was quite normal to walk into an office full of female secretaries and other admin staff and you’d find them actually talking football with not a single male in sight.
Moreover, a few of them would be wearing Newcastle jerseys. Same with Sunderland and Middlesbrough, the local rivals.
Unbelievable.

A dismissal well earned and thoroughly deserved. Stevosaurus Bruce, the last vestige of Jurassic Park, is a fossil long overdue. Moving forward, Newcastle need to be thoughtful in their next appointment and avoid falling for the media’s championing of Great British stalwarts to save St James. Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard are on heavy rotation.

Is Premiership experience a prerequisite? Perhaps not. More important than rounds in the ring is a functional philosophy and footballing identity, characteristics Bruce lacked with aplomb.
