A statue is also being built in honour of former captain Vincent Kompany, which is expected to be unveiled next year.

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

David Silva was not even Spain's best during their run 2008-2014.

We also need a Drogba, Terry, Lampard and Petr Cech at the Bridge.

Histrionics. There’s a reason why “true” testimonial comes after 10 years service and not a day prior. Tis the stuff of legacy. Yaya would certainly have been spoke of in such quarters had he baked his own cake and assumed elder statesmanship, rather than opt for Greek tragedy and a watchamacallit on the Orient express. Still a City legend, but sadly, missed the boat to immortality.
Was it really up to Yaya to “bake his own cake” as you put it? What football reasons did Pep have to exclude Yaya from his squad when he did? Everyone knew that even though the City midfield was loaded, Yaya was still the best all around midfielder at City. So, what was Pep’s excuse❓❗️

Cheers.

It doesn’t matter, it’s City building the statue and not the Spanish FA. Silva was among the core that took City to the next level along with Kun, Yaya, and Kompany.

@TT Camara, Toure was a fading force towards the end of his innings at City. Certainly still capable of doing a job, bit part, when duty called, ala King Kompany. Perhaps, in his mind, he was more defiant of the ravages of time. There followed a Greek Tragedy and a nightmare on the Orient express, all but confirming the fading of his force and that Time, the incumbent Igwe, remains Odogwu I, in all instances.
