Not only O and K, but all the letters in between. Lovely little circus stirring on the dot coms. Can’t help but find this rib ticklingly hilarious. Poor old Uncle Sam, one star spangled banner too far...The excuses coming out are Dave Chapellian, Barca’s top brass claiming they only signed up on the premise that their supporters had the final say. Meanwhile, when asked, Atletico replied “?Que” like Manuel from Fawlty Towers. Will be bitterly disappointed if no further punishment is enacted, points deductions hopefully.

But it's not the only motive. Mundo Deportivo has learned that UEFA has played a fundamental role in that decision. Not because of the threats, but because he has offered a significant sum of money to the 'big six' for leaving the Super League , which seriously threatened his way of life.

Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Common link: Entitled Americans used to minimum investment, yet reaping guaranteed massive financial windfalls. They can’t fathom or handle the pyramid system. Go invest elsewhere, clowns.

Now I do think European football could benefit from some American things
Like a soft salary cap and a Larry Bird-like hybrid rule which could allow
club to re-sign or extend the contract of a drafted player without hurting
their salary cap. This would help clubs keep some of their stars.
Just an idea

America, it’s one helluva drug. Expected no less from Uncle Sam, home to seasoned veterans who can’t tell the difference between a heavy metal handgun and an illuminous yellow taser. Hopefully no statement from the Arsenal, plans for a gathering tomorrow at Ashburton. With all the trimmings please.

Christian Pulisic is enough. Who wants to go full Jozy Altidore. Never go full Jozy. The boat for salary caps was missed a long time ago, where’s the cap set, on new signings, meanwhile OG Bobby Bameyang can double up as Mesut Ozil. Will any take a reduced salary to enable the introducing of such an initiative, or is salary simply capped at the earnings of the highest earner?

I was going to contribute to your thread on improving African football then I realised it didn't exist.
I CAN APPRECIATE IT THAT...

...you're not aware of my posts designed to improve soccer in W. Africa or Nigeria. But trust me, they exist. The W. African version would bring about 20 - 24 clubs (1 - 3 from some or all the countries in W. Africa) to play as one league under mgmt practices currently unseen in the region. The one strictly for Nigeria would blow up the current set up and start with 12 - 14 fully private and professional clubs also under modern mgmt in the most viable locations in the country. Improved mgmt would lead to financial success; financial success would keep the best players in the country and the region and enhance the quality of play. All of this could lead to a successful league. There are no shortage of ideas but they are held down by timidity, lack of will and absence of boldness.

Jamie Carragher: "I don't see a future for FSG in Liverpool after this. Even the captain, Klopp and Kenny Daglish have thrown them under the bus".

I think El Presidente Perez at Madrid will be considering his position too.

Arsenal need to protest outside the Emirates and demand Kroenke sell the club. Fans should own the club.
Winners do it the right way.

Why are you here adding to the pages? And this isn't your first post!
I'M HERE BECAUSE I WANT TO DRAW ATTENTION TO TWO THINGS:

1) That the super league concept is wrong for Europe where soccer thrives but great for other regions of the world.
2) The penchant for Africans to try to solve the problems of developed countries while turning a blind eye to their own region where solutions are in dire need.

An open letter to our fans
Arsenal Media 20 Apr 2021

The last few days have shown us yet again the depth of feeling our supporters around the world have for this great club and the game we love.

We needed no reminding of this but the response from supporters in recent days has given us time for further reflection and deep thought.

It was never our intention to cause such distress, however when the invitation to join the Super League came, while knowing there were no guarantees, we did not want to be left behind to ensure we protected Arsenal and its future.

As a result of listening to you and the wider football community over recent days we are withdrawing from the proposed Super League. We made a mistake, and we apologise for it.

We know it will take time to restore your faith in what we are trying to achieve here at Arsenal but let us be clear that the decision to be part of the Super League was driven by our desire to protect Arsenal, the club you love, and to support the game you love through greater solidarity and financial stability.

Stability is essential for the game to prosper and we will continue to strive to bring the security the game needs to move forward.

The system needs to be fixed. We must work together to find solutions which protect the future of the game and harness the extraordinary power football has to get us on the edge of our seats.

Finally, we know this has been hugely unsettling at the end of what has been an incredibly difficult year for us all.

Our aim is always to make the right decisions for this great football club, to protect it for the future and to take us forward. We didn’t make the right decision here, which we fully accept.

We have heard you.

Massive climbdown underway. Arsenal will withdraw from ESL. But it is too late. Kroenke out. Boris Johnson must help us Gunners achieve our dream.
Winners do it the right way.

We can confirm that we have formally commenced procedures to withdraw from the group developing proposals for a European Super League (ESL).

Chairman Daniel Levy said: “We regret the anxiety and upset caused by the ESL proposal. We felt it was important that our club participated in the development of a possible new structure that sought to better ensure financial fair play and financial sustainability whilst delivering significantly increased support for the wider football pyramid.

“We believe that we should never stand still and that the sport should constantly review competitions and governance to ensure the game we all love continues to evolve and excite fans around the world.

“We should like to thank all those supporters who presented their considered opinions.”

This confirms the stupidity of Levy.

Manchester United will not be participating in the European Super League.

We have listened carefully to the reaction from our fans, the UK government and other key stakeholders.

We remain committed to working with others across the football community to come up with sustainable solutions to the long-term challenges facing the game.
