Super Eagles tournament to lose
We cannot get it any easier, no North Africa teams that has knocked us the last two tournaments. This is the easiest we got since 1994 to add a 4th title and another one next year.
Re: Super Eagles tournament to lose
Oh dear, we still got 3 wins to get, that is not easy! Are we still thinking there are easy teams in this tournament? S. Africa just dumped Morocco with their homebased players.

Kpom and look how they lost. They conceded a hairline VAR goal, then Hakimi missed a PK. SA deserved the victory but it could quite easily have gone the other way.
This will not be easy.

I think the SuperEagles are the best team in the tournament. They just have to want it with all their hearts and souls
Cheers.
Cheers.

^Amongst the best collection of players, but a few can justifiably jostle for the title of best team “thus far”.

We either win it or the likes of Angola or SA will come out of nowhere like Zambia did in 2012 and win it.

South Africa looked okay but their defence is very suspect. Morocco's attack was very wasteful. Their fullbacks for example were very lazy and let in crosses way too easily. Nigeria shuts those down.
EVEN if South Africa was to beat a more focused Morocco, it should have been 2-2 at regulation or 3-2 at regulation.
South Africa SHOULD have conceded at least 2 goals. If Nigeria's attack clicks, that defence will be ripe for the taking.
As for our own defence, I think it is stronger and should be able to shut them out.
Sure I can see Nigeria losing at ANY stage going forward. But I don't think it is a question of a bridge too far. IF we remain focused, work hard, get our tactics right, have a bit of luck on our side AND don't waste our chances, we will win the tournament. Those are a lot of variables, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

All the teams left can beat us and vice versa, there is no easy path to anything.
