Delusional natives...
You natives sha!
Messi, the best player in the world beats Iran in injury time and you are opening your mouth?
Sorry, I forgot you are TheYeyeman... carry on!
Your logic sha.
It took a non PK call and the extraordinary display by the best player in the world to beat them in injury time... yet you spout your rubbish...
It took a Messi...
I know we have players comparable to Messi...
If Nigeria had played like Argentina had done today there'd still be complaints but it's unlikely those complaints would come from all quarters like they have done.
Anyway, we get Michael "Messi" Babatunde. Not one of the players in the squad, hell, not even one of the best players outside the squad, but it's all about the team.... unless you're Argentina, in which case it's about the best players.
You have one kine logic.
For 90+ minutes they were clueless...
Messi magic suddenly makes your opinion tenable?

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. Iran are a good team, you can only do so much against those teams. At no point did you think Argentina were pummelling them, talkless us that we have all assumed isn't as good as Argentina.

No?
Again everybody and their grandma knew how Iran would play from a year ago!
He Sabella did some things right, but far more wrong, esp given the talent at his disposal!
Why is it so hard to concede we were poor against Iran; that Keshi was poor in that game?
But Argentina inspite of better personnel and a game tape on Iran did not look any better.
Maybe you can give Iran some credit, even if reluctantly.
I started by giving credit to Iran. I even went to the extent of saying they might have beaten Nigeria if they had played this well against us.
argentina looked far better than Nigeria. They just did not play as well as u would expect, esp given their talent.
You are really special, with ur tortured logic!

The few times they tried in the first half, they ran into a brick wall. Efe Ambrose was a problem for them especially. They couldn't go thru the middle where Mikel & Onazi stationed. Re: [GRP F] ARG 1 {Messi} V IRN 0 (FT)
What has that got to do with the inability to cross the ball, many turnovers, individual play, inability to do the simple things like control the ball etc. Did Nigeria play like Argentina did today? But I guess a nil-nil result would have meant our performance was equal to that of argentina I think it's clear that Iran's efforts are being recognized. Our players have condemned their performance, our coaches have, we have, the pundits have, about everyone has. But now we want to justify that very same performance with this game, that's loser's mentality. I thought winning was everything, that's what u've always said, now you want to recognise performance without winning???wanaj0 wrote:Same mentality that makes us not to acknowledge and recognise the effort of the opposition.felarey wrote:Gotta be a loser to justify Nigeria's abject failure with this game. Iran is ranked higher than us to start with. They held mighty Argentina till injury time when individual brilliance of Messi made the difference. Dont forget that they had a penalty appeal that the referee refuse to call.

According to you our players are average, guess what so are the Iranians.
A group of well coached average players can do what Costa Rica and co do.

not their derrieres...
What has a soccer/football game have to do with someone saying Naijarians justify Armed Robbery and compare it with shooting in NY?
We played poorly against Iran... Iran was also able to make a more talented Argentina play poorly against them... but no, it is because Naijaria and Argentina were poor not because Iran had anything to do with it...

I knew the Argentina 'arse lickers' will be on parade on this thread bragging about this victory.
Iran today proved they are no pushovers, especially to those who expected a hattrick for Messi,
Di Maria, and co.
I would bet anything, that if Naija had won against Iran the way Argentina just did, these same moaners
will be saying the SE are crap. And this just shows how much these folks have been taken.
