LA LIGA is a joke of a league- u sneeze near Messi or CR7 insie d box, nar automatic PK!
Then the TV rights which ensure that only Real and Barca and win it, with Atletico only now and then.
And this is the best league according to some.
Give me the EPL any day where teams like Watford, Leicester, Bournemouth, Southampton can have their say.
At least we don't see 10-2 scorelines in the EPL...
The problem with these kinds of posts is that you approach football as if it is competition between one league and another. That is because people swallow this marketing drive that began with Sky Sports: "best league in the world" etc.
In reality, football is different everywhere. If you know your football, you pick a tie to watch any weekend and anywhere: EPL, La Liga, France, Italy, Holland, even South America.South. There are good matches to watch every week.
When someone claims he only watches the EPL because there is no "competition" in La Liga or Bundesliga of France, you know he does not really know anything about those leagues or he has been misled by marketing slogans. Just because we know Barca/Real Madrid/Atletico will win the league does not mean that you cannot enjoy individual matches between Sevilla and Betis or Sevilla and Valencia. Just because we know that Man United/Chelsea/Arsenal/Man City will win the EPL does not mean that you cannot enjoy a match between Tottenham and Everton, etc.

Again, Watford, Leicester, Bournemouth, Southampton can have their say, but we know who will win the league at the end of the day: Man City/Man United/Chelsea/Arsenal, which is the usual top four year after year. It is the same everywhere. Pretending that there is no monopoly at the top is disingenuous. Monopolies exist at the top of La Liga, EPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1.

TV rights are not the only reason Barca and Real Madrid are two of the richest in the world. Their TV rights amount to 150 million while their total revenue is almost 600 million. In the EPL, teams like Man City, Chelsea, and Man United are far richer than Watford, Leicester, Bournemouth, Southampton despite the distribution of TV revenues because they are significantly more in other revenues and their sugar daddies have deep pockets. Pretending that revenues are even in the EPL just because the bottom feeders get 60 million pounds from TV (which is smaller than Man United's shirt sponsorship revenue alone) is disingenuous and false.

I actually watched that match from the beginning and Rayo Vallecano were the better team until the referee reduced them to 10 men. Even then, Rayo was still the better side and led 2-1 until Bale equalized and the referee manufactured a penalty for Real Madrid and reduced Rayo to 9 men. That was after only 25 minutes, and the game was dead. Just because Real Madrid were shameless enough to rack up the goals against a team playing 9 men for 70 minutes says nothing about La Liga in general because Rayo was the better team when they were playing 11 vs 11. The only thing it says is that an incompetent or corrupt referee ruined a promising match.
