Some contexts to these pics:
Got this from Goke Slankey Solanke wall:

From coaching to wrestler.

KENNEDY BOBOYE: A CASE OF HOOLIGANISM

If Plateau United of Jos wants to become the champion of the NPFL this season, the team must focus on playing good football and not negative form of football and the thuggery behaviour and antics their coach exhibited yesterday at the Lekan Salami Stadium. Kennedy Akinboboye, Plateau United Head Coach was an embarrassment to the league with his show of shame in yesterday's encounter and this should call for LMC sanction to serve as a deterrent for future occurrence.

It was all calm and mild a few hours before the start of the Match Day 12 NPFL game Shooting Stars vs Plateau United. Pre match meeting done and other formalities. But in a swift contrast, a few minutes before the match, so many ugly scenes started happening right from the tunnel with Plateau United goalie - Oladele Ajiboye, a former 3SC player taunting a few Shooting Stars players with gross behaviour and unprintable words before the match, the referee's attention was called to this and was solved arbitrarily.

To the game proper, the match started with normal exchanges as reported and the Jos team got a goal before the end of the first half. Second half commenced and it was all negative attitudes from the team. Oladele Ajiboye would feigned injury and was on the ground for longer period on over 4 occasions against the stipulated FIFA 5 mins each time - and the centre referee Charles Ozigbo from Anambra was left with no choice than to brandished yellow cards for time wasting antics and delays throughout the match. Fans started getting bored with this attitudes and if not for their maturity, the match would have been abandoned.

Shooting got a consolatory goal with a good penalty when Bode Daniel was hacked down in the box, but Boboye was clearly upset that his antics had been bursted. He started with provocations and clearly running around the pitch to beat and harass some 3SC officials, there are pictorial evidence to this and his animalistic and unnecessary action brought the game into a total halt for over 12 mins so much that the fans were apparently fed up!

You don't become a league champion by playing dirty - Plateau United players would just fall without a contact and be rolling on the pitch for minutes; Jersey number 22 - Oladele Ajiboye and 5 - Jimmy Obrose were greatest culprits for this.

For Boboye, it would have done a world of good if his team would focus on the game than coming up with hooligan behaviours that would always bring football into disrepute. The LMC still celebrated CNN goal of the Week via MFM Olatunbosun last week and if this match had been on television, this would have been a total contrast for what LMC objectives preaches.
This is just a memoir, it would be interesting to see the Match Commissioner's report and further LMC verdict.

So who is fighting who in that photo? The text 'match report' does not do a good job of explaining that.

Boboye sanctioned for his "hooligan" behaviour in Ibadan.

"LMC has imposed a 3-game touchline ban on Boboye (2 games being suspended subject on good conduct for the rest of the #NPFL season) & he will pay a fine N100,000" - LMC

MFM is now on top of the league. This might not be a good thing. I don't think the team is ready for continent football. As long as the club survives relegation and continues to develop the revenue streams I am okay. With time maybe build their own 40,000 seater stadium.
Winners do it the right way.

Being on top of the table 14 matches into a 38-match season, 4 points ahead of 4th-placed Pillars (who have a match in hand), and 10 points ahead of the 11th placed team .... is hardly a basis for beginning to discuss continental football next season.

PS: And they have no need to build a stadium.

failure to innovate is planning to fail as a business. MFM is a private company that don't rely on government handouts. A new stadium should be part of the long term plans. They can generate more revenue to run the club.

I hope the club don't qualify for the continent. Simply don't have the depth or resources to compete domestically and on the continent at the same time.
Winners do it the right way.

Breaking news: Imama Amapakabo gets three-match ultimatum

The management of Rangers International FC of Enugu have handed a three-match ultimatum to its technical adviser, Imama Amapakabo and his technical crew to start winning matches or face sack.

The must win matches starts from Sunday’s match day 15 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter against Katsina United.

The club’s Director of Public Relations, Media and Publicity, Foster Chime said that the management, after an extra-ordinary emergency meeting on Friday, took the decision as a result of what it described as a persistent abysmal performances in the NPFL and the CAF Champions League competition.

The decision compels Amapakabo and his technical crew to improve on their performance by wining Katsina United’s game and next two home matches or be ready to step aside.

The meeting, which was chaired by the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer, Christian Chukwu equally urged the players to improve on their performances.

He also advised them to be committed and dedicated to up their game in the next three matches as all eyes are on them to redeem the image of the club in the upcoming CAF Confederations Cup as well as the remaining NPFL matches.

Really? Bunch of ungrateful people. Imama "saved" you by winning the trophy. Now, you are all out for his head. If he is fired, be rest assured that might be the beginning of the end for Enugu Rangers in this year's league.

Rangers is now bottom of the league, lost 1-0 to Katsina, Shooting lost for the first time in 6 matches losing 1-0 to Nassarawa, MFM was brazenly robbed in Gombe, losing 1-0, Plateau United back on top whipping a hapless team 4-1.
Truth needs no support system, it can stand firmly on its legs!!

Remo Stars' Coach Sympathizes with Imama
Mar 30, 2017 12:45:08
http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4111/npf ... -amapakabo

The Flying Antelopes' woes were compounded by the Sky Blue Stars their gaffer has sympathised with his counterpart

Remo Stars coach, Fatai Osho expresses concern with the situation of Enugu Ranger's Imama Amapakabo.

Rangers' struggles continued in the Nigeria Professional Football League as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by the Sky Blue Stars.

The result sees the Nigerian champions lead the log from behind after 13 topflight matches.

And the former Crown FC handler has sympathised with his counterpart stating psychological problems as his team's undoing.

“Yes definitely I feel for coach Imama Amapakabo, anybody that has followed Nigerian football in the last three years will consent that Imama has real quality," Osho told Goal.

"It’s unfortunate that this is happening to him. There's an obvious psychological problem in that team, I was very close to the line when Remo Stars played against Enugu Rangers on Wednesday and I saw it in those players that they didn't play to their potential because of pressure coming from different sources.

"I know Rangers are much better than what we saw. I played against them last season in the Federation Cup, even though I won, the fight they gave was much better than what we saw on Wednesday.

"You can see that we were more dominant and looked more confident. It's really unfortunate that this is happening. Coach Imama is intelligent, smart and has done a lot in Nigeria the last year and someone like that should not just go down.

"I know that it's just a phase and he will come back strong, but I pray that their management gives him some time to get his team back. Rangers aren't lacking tactical problems, I see more of a psychological problem in that team."
