Watched a live phone-in interview of Fabiyi on a TV programme. Fabiyi was phoning in from Jos (not Gombe)
Why wouldn't the guy go AWOL when the club cannot guarantee his health & safety..?

Going by Fabiyi's version, the Kwairanga fellow & Isa Gambo, should be banned from football for life.

Time has come for LMC to deal accordingly with people who bring the league into disrepute. Monetary fines are not deterrent enough. Season-long bans & life-bans must be employed when it comes to threat to life...

Let erring clubs go under as consequence of sanctions; better to have a 10-team league of law-abiding participants, than a 20-team league of miscreants.

LMC must enact zero-tolerance when it is threat to life...

What exactly did he say about Kwairanga and Gambo?

The speculation is that Fabiyi took money under the table from Rangers and sold the game. The assumption is that Gombe had not paid him and then the circumstances of conceding that late late equalizer. How true are those allegations?

Fabiyi didn't mention names, but implied who the personalities were...
Kwairanga & Gambo apparently confronted Fabiyi after the final whistle, on the pitch, and loudly accused him of match-fixing in front of irate home fans who were then emboldened to assault him.
Both persons allegedly engaged in cheer-leading the assault on Fabiyi...

The allegation of match-fixing is not even proven; simply based on the equalising goal which they felt Fabiyi should have prevented.

The TV phone-interview with Fabiyi happened Thursday 11 May. To my knowledge, no evidence of match-fixing has been presented.
So Fabiyi was assaulted based merely on suspicion...

LMC is apparently still investigating the matter...

The highlighted above deserves a LIFE BAN. That is essentially an attempt to get someone killed by a mob. Let's hope LMC can take SERIOUS ACTION on that.

That's exactly the submission made by the TV Anchors. And precisely my point.
1 Month ban is a mere rap on the wrist.

More irksome is the lack of footage of that match. Thats the over-riding importance of TV in the NPFL.
Such incidents should be captured on TV or video, so there are no escape clauses for the culprits.

Perhaps also, the equalising goal which is the centre of the storm, could be exhaustively debated upon...
