Ghana "Striker" Failed EPL Medical.

Are his bones too old for his age? :)

Raphael Dwamena's move to Brighton off after striker fails medical

Raphael Dwamena has scored two goals in three games for Ghana after making his international debut earlier this year
Brighton have pulled out of a deal to sign Raphael Dwamena from FC Zurich after the striker failed a medical.

The 21-year-old had agreed personal terms with Albion after they had a bid, reported to be around 15m euros (£13.8m), accepted by his Swiss club.

"The club would like to wish Raphael the very best for the future," said Brighton in a statement.

The newly promoted Seagulls have lost both of their Premier League games and are yet to score a goal this season.

On Sunday, Brighton broke their transfer record for the third time this summer by completing the signing of Colombia winger Jose Izquierdo from Club Brugge for £13.5m.

Chris Hughton's side have also signed midfielder Davy Propper from PSV Eindhoven for about £6m, goalkeeper Mathew Ryan for a reported £5m from Valencia and winger Soufyan Ahannach from Dutch second-tier side Almere City for an undisclosed fee.

Not in the article.

As Papi can attest, it is not a death sentence.
Well, wish the guy good health.

Oh dear!
Good thing is that it was caught now during this medical, as opposed to the worse case scenario.
Now, he can begin the process of managing the situation.
Wish the lad all the very best

Where is "Chief Rawlings" to explain this to us?
And the BIBLE says: The race is NOT for the swift, neither is the battle for the strong nor ... but time and chance makes them all.
Ecclesiastes 1:18: For in much wisdom is much grief and he that increases knowledge increases sorrow.

Oh, good it was discovered on time. Where are the medical doctors here, how does this work? Can he ever play ball again?

Depends on what the problem is.
Remember Nwankwo Kanu was discovered to have a serious heart problem which was surgically corrected in the US before he went on to kick a$$ at Arsenal.
Others were not so lucky. Some have died on the pitch like Okwaraji and more recently, Tiote. Others have had to give up their career after a very close shave, like Fabrice Muamba.

"There is going to be some genetic variation amongst the black population. Our information in the UK and from the US is based predominately among black athletes who have originated in West Africa."
Prof Sharma added that while we do not have much data on East Africa, what we do have seems to indicate players from there do not suffer as badly as their West African counterparts.
Interesting...
Worth noting that Africans have a lot of genetic variation. The most in the world.

The left wall of the heart (do they mean the ventricle?) thickening might have an advantage in W. Africa. If so, what could that be?

Does this partially explain why W. Africans are not as good at long distance as the E. Africans?

Hmm, thanks - Chiefs Damunk and Kabalega - for your explanations/input in helping me understand more of, or about the issue.

Management depends on what type of heart condition and how advanced it is.
If its HOCM, (Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy) he should consider himself lucky it was picked up early (Killed M.V Foe and I think Sam Okwaraji as well as a lot of other footballers). It's usually genetic and a good history might reveal a few male family members a couple of generations ago probably had sudden cardiac death while engaging in semi-intense or intense physical activity.

Ghana have this player on their World Cup squad.

Are they so desperate for strikers that they are willing to put the lad's life at risk?
