You are the one that is lying. First off the bar was hit after Onazi was off (first one in 76th minute).
Best opportunities to score before Onazi was taken off (based on FIFA match highlights so that I prove I am objective with my list):
19' Minimal Emenike offside goal
22' Excellent Enyeama save off of a Pogba volley
34' Odemwingie manhandled in goal by Evra, stonewall penalty
39' France (not sure who) misses a golden opportunity from 5 yards
44' Nigeria (Mikel?) shoots from outside the box, Emenike mishandles the ball from the rebound
64' Odemwingie snapshot

That's 4-2 for Nigeria on proper chances. Not to mention two-three red card offences in the meantime.

... yes, but AFTER Onazi left the game. Are you sure you watched the game?

Anyway, as txj mentioned, this is old news and irrelevant wrt to next year's WC.

I have repeatedly said that one of the most naive aspects of Nigerian football is our lack of cynicism, respect for referees, and deference to their authority. Other teams get away with murderous tackles against our players (e.g. Matuidi on Onazi) and refs give dodgy decisions against us, partly because when our players are fouled/get a bad call, their team-mates do not chase the referee, surround him to angrily demand a red card for the opposition player, our GK doesn't run 50 yards out of his goal to get in the faces of the referee and opposition, and our subs bench don't rise up in unison to wave imaginary red cards.

This is why Brahimi headbutted one of our players, gets to stay on the pitch, then fouls said player in the penalty area, got a PK for a foul he committed, then remained on the pitch to score the PK and rob Nigeria of victory, while the ref grins like Cheshire cat.

This is how European players "respond' to refs who do not give decisions in their favour:

European and South American teams harass the referee as a deliberate tactic of their play. They view ref pressuring as a tactic as legit and rehearsed as taking a corner or a shot. When Sanchez scored for Chile against Germany in the Confed cup, no Chilean player went to celebrate with him...because the Chilean players were angrily hounding the ref and demanding a red or yellow card for Germany's Rudy for a foul on Vidal in the move that led to the goal! Can you imagine that. They refused to celebrate a goal because they were too busy arguing with him for playing advantage and letting them score!

In contrast African players are so sedate.

You are right, but African players will never get away with harassing the referees - the referee will red card any African player that tries to harass him.

Perhaps it is a case of being "cute" about how to pressure the ref? I don't mean screaming in his face like a madman like CR7 and Ballack did. Perhaps what the Italians do (clutch your face every time an opponent tackles you, then do 7 gator rolls on the ground and act like you were taken out by an AK47). With obligatory outrage from the bench and coaching crew...

Its up to our administrators to bring this to the surface. A dossier of all the bad calls we have got would be a good start.

That game against France was just awful the way they accepted elbows and brutal tackles and limped out of the tournament mute!

Yep, I was livid. Especially when that ponce Giroud elbowed Mikel. If it was the other way round, Giroud would have been flapping around in mock-agony and Mikel would have been sent off. But Mikel just stood there and took it. We owe France a serious beating.

I recall an English fan on one of the websites saying that "it looks like the ref will not send off any of the French players even if they start shooting the Nigerians with AK47s"

kpom   Look if there is an incident between european players, the ref will run and check to see if everybody is ok, if there is an incident between a European team and a South American team he will run and check if the South American team is up to its old tricks ie trying to con the ref but if there is an incident between a European team or a South American team and an African team he will run and check which card he needs to give the African player. Surrounding the ref is just asking for him to pull out his red. When you still have commentators using naive and crude to describe our footbal,l you know the old stereos of big, powerful, clumsy and therefore dangerous are still floating around in those heads. Let Pinnick start raising awareness of our poor treatment at the hands of refs before the tournament starts. So when the ref runs to take action that will temper his response.

Matuidi's "tackle" on Onazi was so bad that Maradona addressed it at press conference and brought a photo still of the horrific tackle with him:

Image

He said:
"It is impossible that the referee did not see this criminal tackle, it is worse than what Suarez did.”

Image

Meanwhile no outrage from any of our players. All stood around with their hands on their hips after one of their teammates has just been the victim of a gangland hit.

Yep, it was a rubbish reaction. They just gave in. I hope this team is more unified and will actually give a damn if that type of thing happens again.
