Who else remains concerned about the playmaker position?
For me, this remains our nemesis. Rohr has failed to address the problem in his two years in the job.
I think he has been too conservative and too scared to take risks. For me, he blundered in not making his list 35-strong and inviting five playmakers to camp.
Were I in his shoes, I would have asked the following five to report to camp and slug it out for the playmaker position:
[1] Abdul Ajagun
[2] Kelechi Nwakali
[3] Tosin Kehinde
[4] Musa Yahaya
[5] Chukwuka Onuwa
Even if they fail to make the grade and have to be dropped, what has he lost?

Mikel Obi is the playmaker

Just you alone Ayo.

He is 31, not quick and above all, we need his defensive presence in front of the back four alongside Ndidi!

I am. I think we are royally %%%% if Mikel dare gets injured. People will say Iwobi, but who replaces Iwobi out wide? We have too many b2b/destroyers on this team. All we can do is pray that Mikel doesn't get injured. I already hate the fact that we play with two destroyers who can't build play from deep.

So SE have now become like NYSC . Invite them, give them uniforms and let them slug it out. Out of 2 million 35 might get a job .

We will pray for power and water but we won’t pray for a playmaker. Mikel, iwobi,Moses
, nacho and Simon all make plays on the regular.

we are fine in the play making department withAyo Akinfe wrote:For me, this remains our nemesis. Rohr has failed to address the problem in his two years in the job.

Mikel Obi
Alex Iwobi
I agree with you though that Rohr has been to conservative and has not tried enough players, but I am speaking in the goalkeeping and wide forward departments.
None of the options you named are better than Mikel or Iwobi.

Iwobi has not impressed me as a playmaker. We need Mikel playing deep. For me, this is our most problematic position.
I am confident Uzoho will come good in goal. All I would have loved is for Onyekuru to compliment Moses in the wide position and I would have been happy with the squad.

Re: Who else remains concerned about the playmaker position?
Iwobi, Mikel and Etebo can all play in the hole...
Re: Who else remains concerned about the playmaker position?
I think we are good. My concern is the full back play. We don't play with good width. Also the wing backs are poor defensively. We are also not good on set pieces. We deliver poor crosses into the box. Central defenders also make one or two mistakes a game. Goalkeeper play is also a major concern. Lack of experience. It is not easy for Uzoho to go up against Messi and co. The coaches have a lot of work
Winners do it the right way.

We have 3;
John Mikel Obi
Oghenekaro Etebo
Alex Iwobi
We need Mikel to create more danger upfront as AM while Onazi and Ndidi shield the back 4.

I would play Tyronne Ebuehi and Joel Obi as my two fullbacks. They are as a good as anyone else has.

Re: Who else remains concerned about the playmaker position?
Thank Goodness the originator of this thread has no control over team selection..... Joel Obi left back ,M Obi defensive Midfield. Some of the suggests simply expose the writers narrow and very rigid view. It would been understandble if specialist fullbacks were not available . Ajagun, Ambrose,Juwon,
Dele Aiyenugba, Onyekuru none would add value to this squad.

Re: Who else remains concerned about the playmaker position?
Serbian winger pushed Ebeuhi aside like he wasn't there. He needs to get stronger. 2018 might be too soon for him. Joel Obi is just returning from injury. Was on the bench for his club. He has never played wing back for Nigeria.Ayo Akinfe wrote:ohenhen1 wrote:I think we are good. My concern is the full back play. We don't play with good width. Re: Who else remains concerned about the playmaker position?
The only concern is really if Mikel is marked out of a game/ gets injured. We haven't had a game that i recall where we dominated in his absence.
We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand
Roy Keane: ITV 02/25/14
He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.
Gary Neville: Mirror: 12/23/14
I think Spain’s by far the best league.

Re: Who else remains concerned about the playmaker position?
I would even go as far as suggesting Nacho could play the role (not position) in certain situational offensive formations if Mikel gets subbed out.Goldleaf wrote:We have 3;

But I agree with wAyo Rohr should've called up Nwakali, Osimhen and Onyekuru, if anything just to give the other guys a run for their money.

Mikel and Iwobi. The rest are not playmakers. Only Mikel is good at holding on to the ball.EMIR KONGI JAFFI JOFFA wrote:Komani wrote:I am. I think we are royally %%%% if Mikel dare gets injured.
