blah blah blah blah

When is the interesting part. :rotf:
Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

I am watching the Congress live on FIFA TV online. A big difference between the two presentation is the gender and age diversity in the United bid compared to Morocco which was simply adult males. Stark difference which I hope does not affect voting.

I believe they have a way better package. A vote for Morocco over the United bid would have been a bit sentimental. In the end this was the right choice.

Agreed. Watching both bid presentations and then the FIFA analysis, USA/Mexico/Canada simply had the better case.

Very good! Ando no to a country that wanted to join the E.U and withdraw from hosting 2015 cup of nations in fear of Ebola.

TBH, in terms of presentation aesthetics, it was a beat down of Morocco. It was not even close, IMO.

For the DNQers maybe but to the countries in it , nah!

On a serious note, it is just the same with about 8 plus crappy games added to the current number.

16 groups of 3 is a recipe for collusion.

United States, Mexico, Canada Beat Morocco to Be Named Hosts of 2026 World Cup

The joint bid of the United States, Mexico and Canada has won the right to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, beating Morocco in Wednesday's vote.

BBC Journalist Richard Conway confirmed the news:
Meanwhile, Fox Soccer celebrated:

Then they said to one another, “We are truly guilty concerning our brother, for we saw the anguish of his soul when he pleaded with us, and we would not hear; therefore this distress has come upon us.” Genesis 42:21

“A doubtful friend is worse than a certain enemy. Let a man be one thing or the other, and we then know how to meet him” (Aesop, 620–564 BC).

Cito,

There will not be crappy games. Think about this -- if we had 48 team WC this year you may have the following participating:

Italy
Ghana
Chile
USA
Holland
I/Coast
Paraguay
Wales
Austria
N/Ireland
Ukraine
Congo DR
Greece
Cameroon
Jamaica
Burkina Faso

*Note, I have not used actual berths designed for qualification from Confederations. This is just to note countries capable of playing now in the World Cup and there are more.

...looks like it was a no brainer.
3 western countries vs one 3rd world.
The infrastructures, logistics, and managements are there.
Plus by then the current USA politics of hate to foreigners must have ebbed.

Hmm, I agree with you; therefore, I think it's a good thing Morocco lost the bid.

This is not true.
Ghana wouldn’t have made it - Uganda finished ahead of them in qualifying. Cameroon wouldn’t have been in too.
Syria, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, and possibly Solomon Islands would have made it over some of the teams you listed.
