London Underground station named after Gareth Southgate

Post by Ayo Akinfe »

London Underground station temporarily named after Gareth Southgate in recognition of his achievement - See more at: https://goo.gl/W8F5oZ

Shame it is temporary. I would have thought London Underground would be brave enough to make it permanent.

Gareth Southgate deserves credit for how brave he was to retired the old guard, switch to 3-5-2, abandon the traditional 4-4-2 that has been an albatross around England's neck for ages and more importantly, he was able to dampen expectations. He made it clear to the English media that this team is nowhere near good enough to compete for the World Cup.

It takes a brave man to look England in the eye and say: "You are not good enough."

I also hope those his waistcoats now become fashion accessories. He actually looked very smart in them!

They would have renamed the country Gareth Britain if they won the WC.

It is a marketing stunt with VISA.

The station name has always been Southgate. They are just branding it Gareth Southgate for 48 hrs.
