I disagree. I don't know about allowed to slip through their hands. Those players were not allowed to slip through our fingers. You cannot force players to sign contracts. The same Bournermouth spent 11 million on David Brooks in the summer, 25 million on jefferson Lerma and 11 million on diego rico. This is a club of smaller stature than arsenal.
What is Kroenke really bringing to Arsenal?
Not saying that he was doing a stellar job but did Gazidis run because he knew forehand bout the mess Kroenke is going to create?
Said on this thread numerous times, years of negligence have come back to haunt arsenal. Szczęsny, Santi, Fabianski, Paulista, Giroud, Gnabry, Sanchez, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, Cesc, Cole, Flaimini, Hleb, Clichy, Song, Nasri..that is untold hundreds of millions of pounds Arsenal allowed to slip through their fingers in terms of resale value.
Overall, when you look at trophies won to players bought and sold, no club has a better record in the premier league in terms of VFM, ie money spent to returns. We need to understand the nuances and upsides of the club's performances on these deals whilst rightly criticising the downsides and mistakes.
On Kroenke, I am not saying he should put his money in. He does not need to, we do not need the Owners money, so long as he does not take out of the club. Arsenal have money to spend, and it actually has nothing to do with FFP. It is more the premier league rules that controls our current plight.
My beef with Kroenke is do not take money out of the club like he has, and spend the club's money on the squad. If there are Capital projects like rebuilding the youth academy or London Colney, why use funds that we need for transfers, when there are other ways to finance these deals.
Look at Arsenal's income compared to Liverpool, Spuds, Everton etc etc. Indeed, remove the money the Owners have put in to our rivals, only ManU beats us. We are now in that place where we should be able to spend on our club without the Owner's money despite still paying our mortgage. But the Owner has been paid for StatsDNA services and recently over £5m was taken from the club for legal fees he raised when buying Usmanov's shares. This is my beef with Kroenke.

He does not like the bench at Bayern. Arsenal needs a player who can carry the ball between the lines or on the wings.
But looks like Denis Suarez is getting closer and closer.

Arsenal has lost too many players well below market value. A club that has always touted self sufficient model cannot watch key player after key player exit club leaving millions upon millions of pounds on the table in resale value.
Following prices of player exits...
Szczęsny £10.98m
Santi Free
Fabianski Free
Paulista £9.90m
Giroud £15.30m
Gnabry £4.50m
Sanchez swap
Ramsey Free
Welbeck Free
Wilshere Free
Ozil paid insane wages
Cesc £30.60m
Cole swap
Flamini Free
Hleb £15.30m
Clichy £6.98m
Song £17.10m
Nasri £24.75m
In total 8 players lost on free or in a poorly thought out swap deals. Cash earned in sales for likes of Giroud, Gnabry, Hleb, Cesc, Song, Nasri, Szczęsny, Clichy and Paulista flat out gross incompetence. 135 MP in total earned from that list of players by Arsenal in resale value...Liverpool made nearly as much on sale of Coutinho alone.
Face facts triumvirate of Stan, AW and Gazidis made a right mess out of Arsenal, a mess that will take years to correct. Contrast that to David Dein who made a killing in sales of Anelka, Overmars and Petit. In early 00's made 80 MP for that trio.

“Letting Ramsey leave is just bad, bad club management isn’t it,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“To let player contracts run out in this day and age for how much these players go for and how much they’re worth is criminal.
“To let him leave the club and walk away for free, somebody in his prime leaving for nothing, it’s a football crime.
“Now they have got to replace him and that will cost money but until the Ozil problem gets sorted out they are going to find it difficult to bring in players.
“Because if they bid £50-60m for someone, the first thing the player will say is well I want what Ozil is getting.
“And when the club says you aren’t getting that then the player will just say well I’m not coming then. And that is what happened with Ramsey.”
Ozil is the highest paid player in the Arsenal squad earning £350,000 per-week.

You were spot on and I can bring those post with all names been label to you that you don't like him.Ozil should have let go for free or he accept pay cut. That is why I don't blame Ramsey,he has done more to Arsenal helping us win trophies than Ozil. His FA cup final display score goals carry the team something Ozil cant and why will the bonehead Welsh Pele not ask for more money?anikulapo wrote:“Letting Ramsey leave is just bad, bad club management isn’t it,” Merson told Sky Sports.

I mean Pogba,Hazard,Salah,Mane,Kun ,KDB etc are in a much richer club yet making less than Ozil.
Iwobi has done more this season than Ozil. I hate to bring his name up but Wenger mismanage the club,he is the one who sanction the Ozil deal, thank God he is gone.
We complain how others have spend more money, look at Liverpool the players they have sell, almost 200 million for Suarez and Coutinho they got.when they spend less than 50 million on both guys.

Unai Emery has urged Arsenal to find the cash to complete a deal for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, 25, this month. The Spanish club will sanction a loan if a £20m commitment to signing Suarez permanently this summer is includedSo this club don't have 20 million to buy that boy?

Paul Merson launches scathing attack on Arsenal chiefs over "criminal" decisions
The former Gunners star is fuming with the club over the Aaron Ramsey saga - and the contract handed to Mesut Ozil

Paul Merson has hit out at Arsenal chiefs for allowing Aaron Ramsey to leave the club for nothing.
The former Gunners star has declared the Welshman’s impending exit on a free transfer as “a football crime”.
Wales international Ramsey is out of contract at the end of the season and is closing in on a move to Italian champions Juventus .

The 27-year-old held extension talks with Arsenal officials during the last 18 months, but saw the club’s current chiefs pull a contract offer in September.
Unai Emery continues to use Aaron Ramsey (Image: Catherine Ivill)
“Letting Ramsey leave is just bad, bad club management isn’t it,” an unhappy Merson told Sky Sports.
“To let player contracts run out in this day and age for how much these players go for and how much they’re worth is criminal.
“To let him leave the club and walk away for free, somebody in his prime leaving for nothing, it’s a football crime."
Merson isn't happy
Merson believes that the club made a rod for their own back by handing Mesut Ozil - in and out of the team under Unai Emery - a huge £350,000-a-week deal back in February.
He insists that that deal means the club have backed themselves into a corner with regards replacing Ramsey - and insists that they won't be able to bring in a player of similar quality.
Mesut Ozil is a major problem for the Gunners, reckons Merson (Image: Arsenal FC via Getty Images)
“Now they have got to replace him and that will cost money but until the Ozil problem gets sorted out they are going to find it difficult to bring in players.
“Because if they bid £50-60million for someone, the first thing the player will say is well I want what Ozil is getting.
“And when the club says you aren’t getting that then the player will just say well I’m not coming then. And that is what happened with Ramsey."
Asked how close the club are to challenging for a Premier League title, Merson responded: “What do you think? 20 years.
“They’re a million miles away at the moment and the way it is going right now they probably need seven players to compete."

Aniks you did but I think ( I may be so wrong ) that the issue started before Ozil ..I think It was Theo.....
At the time recall Ozil and Sanchez were happy with their 140K a week , till Theo got bumped to 140K a week with them, I said it then that he was not a 140K a week player and at that time not in the level of Sanchez and Ozil..even Santi at that time was earning less.
You could see into the future that at renewal Ozil and Sanchez were going to ask for more.. That more turned out to be stupidly insane for both and Only Ozil for whatever Gazalizard was smoking agreed ..thats history now.
Fast fw to ramsey of course he going to ask for more if not the same and anyone joining us now will do the same unless we respect ourselves and go for rejects or academy players and hope they will come good . ..and also let Ozil go ...
But Ozil must go to fix the wage structure.
