Oumar Bne Salah was good, very good but he was NOT a missing link in the CIV 94 Team. That team was perfect to the core. We were just a better team against them during the semi final. We were also lucky that their then 2 best strikers (as previously mentioned by another forumner), Ben Badi (Adboulaye Traore) and Tiehi Joel was hurt during that game.

dunno about that though. Ivoriens frequently carry loaded teams, only to flatter to deceive. I remember their 2006 WC team..... :veryangry: :veryangry: :veryangry:
I am not sure, but I think they played to Henry Michel's instruction. One thing was certain, in each game, they waited till after they conceded a goal to start attacking. That still baffles me until today :???: :???: :???:

Abdoulaye Traore was wounded by Benedict Iroha. It was difficult to tell whether he did it on purpose or not. However, Tiehi Joel was hurt before the gain. He could not take it anymore and was taken out on a stretcher in the second half. NOBODY TOUCHED HIM!!!

IVC in the 90s was a good team but Nigeria was a far better team. If Yeking was on point that day we could have put 5 past them before regulation time. The team that I feel was unlucky was Zambia. If not for that plane crash that claimed 90% of their squad, they could have easily qualified for the 94 world cup.

Quite right Uncle lukemania, I remember he used to fly in on private jet to play games at Maroc 88, courtesy of his Club's president.
