the quality of Opposition very poor. Wafu women should only be a 4 nations event not 8
It’s developmental.
Think the aim is to give as many subregional countries as possible a chance at competitive football.
Maybe going forward let teams like Niger pre-qualify

To score 13+ goals.

Apart from the real point: Developmental.

I like the fact that this sends a message to the Malien team.
They beat Niger with their A team 12-0. We beat Niger 15-0 with largely our reserves team

OP please change the heading to reflect the final score...
Do not recall our GK making a save the entire game. Not even sure these Nigeriens had a shot at all.

Some of these home based will be in the WC squad.
My picks after the Burkina Faso game were: Osare Igbinovia (#10, Central midfielder), Mariam Ibrahim (#7, burly centerback) and Alice Ogebe (#3, right wing back) and Amarachi Okoronkwo (#12, defensive MF).

The former Captain is the best of the bunch; 2nd to her should be Okeke.

Evelyn Nwabuoku is now being played as one of the back 3 in a 3-5-2 formation. She is most definitely behind the likes of Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale, Josephine Chukwunonye, Ngozi Ebere, Faith Michael, Sarah Nnodim and most recently Mariam Ibrahim.

I would even argue that Mary Ologbosere might give her a good run for her money at Right back. Will be shocked if she makes the WC team, as her best days are sadly behind her.

Not sure about Chidinma Okeke - she seemed okay today. Really didn't stand out for me in either game.

The former Captain never played back 3 when she was captain before her injury, but rather played in the midfield.
Falcons survival at WWC only rests in taking the best players and then fixing them in the best positions to outwit or counteract the opposition; anything else they will be toast. Re-watch the France game and see why.

Is it worth Niger turning up for the 2nd leg? Astroturf for a match rusty unfit team? Niger looked gassed after just 23 minutes. Astroturf makes the pace of the game quicker hence a slightly better fitness level is required.
