Mentality Monsters. Origi frustrates me with his lack of anticipation and drive at times but does he typify that mentality of never give up!
Once again, you take sides with the white man against a Nigerian, Bukayo Saka. Why do you continue to turn your back against Nigerians?

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Lallana, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Adrian, Fabinho, Milner, Keita, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi.

Fabinho on the bench. 4 yellow cards already. Looking ahead to city. Wonder who sits back at 6. Salah is due for a good game. Let’s go RedMen! YNWA....

Was practically inevitable.
You have to take your chances against the best teams.

Liverpool remind me of the old Manchester United teams of Alex Fergueson.
They were never ever out of tying or winning close games. Mentally so strong.

Mental giants! Exactly like Fergueson's Manure teams in the 90s.
They are never defeated until the final whistle.

My people, I say that Sadio is the Mane, not Salah. The little Senegalese is a giant on the green grass, a holy terror. Never gives up, always running, always trying to work his magic. This tough victory belongs to him. By the way, this Tyrone Mings is good oh. A solid Inglan defender in the making. Stones, go back to where you came from you bum.

Commendable win. This team never gives up. Incredible desire.

I really think Klopp messed up with that starting midfield selection.

Yes, Henderson is a queynte.* The guy fooks up all the time. Not sure why he is captain.

Suspect he was looking for more technical control of MF with Lallana in the #6 role for the first time. And they largely controlled the game but without creating good quality chances in the last third...

I'm familiar with that old school variation. :P

I thought Lallana was more of a problem that Henderson - not sure why Klopp played him in the 6 ahead of Henderson and Gini who have both played their in the past. Very odd call.

Surely then, Gini as 6, and Ox in for Lallana. Or even keep Lallana and move him further forward.

Hope to see Fab, Gini and Ox versus City but I expect not.

The idea behind Lallana in the #6 role (vs Gini) is to reprise the Jorginho role and to have the ball move faster..

The problem wasn't so much the selection as the lack of intensity to match Villa...

The usuals. We have to press we’ll in midfield and prevent service to their forwards. Gengenpress will win it for us. Let’s go RedMen! YNWA.....
