Nederland boys are showing us how important the “basics” are. They just know how to do the basic stuff in a very effective way. Meanwhile we huff and puff with flashes of flair. So far a promising but naive display.

You have said it all.

Another chance for Netherlands.

We are in trouble.

But guys going back on memory lane. Thinking of Sabastin Brodricks (Nduka Ugbades)... this team seems to be waaaaaay below our U17 standard. What happened?

Watching 30 minutes of football so far. My patriotic optimism is waning :( :( :(

This is actually the best we have played in this tournament, well except at the back.

The Dutch keeper goes down and out after what looked like an innocuous challenge

In my view, the Nigerian U17 can win this game but they have to be more patient than they are currently showing. They have the technique to often get behind the Dutch team but they are in such a mad haste that they are ineffective. The Dutch team is playing cautiously and also strategically especially with the second ball in our box that often finds a shooter wide open.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

Brainless football from our lads, and overzealous defending.
This is Championship footbal at the U-17 level.

governments destroy freedom, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals, and our banks destroy the economy.”

The Dutch are very tactical. They are slowing the game down deliberately

This is so true. This actually a winnable game for the boys if they calm down and pick their passes systematically.
