The striker finished as top scorer in African Cup of Nations qualifying for Nigeria with seven goals, before scoring five at the tournament last summer.

Tottenham made their own late attempt to secure a loan deal for Ighalo on Deadline Day.

Inter Milan also wanted to sign Ighalo, when their pursuit of Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud failed, but the Nigerian had his heart set on a move back to English football with United.

Good move on his part. He was dominant in the AFCON qualifiers and the tournament itself. On paper, it is a good move but you got to wonder why let Lukaku go and now sign Ighalo? In any case, good for Ighalo and his stats show that he is a top player that United urgently needs.

Ovie Ejaria

Reading put their recent woes to one side in emphatic fashion on Saturday as they eased past Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at Hillsborough.
Here are five things you may have missed from the encounter in a wet and windy south Yorkshire.

Ejaria's assist
Every Reading fan knows what Ovie Ejaria is capable of and it's fair to say in the past month or so he hasn't been at his best.
However, he was back to his magical best for this game, producing a man-of-the-match display which was capped by arguably the assist of the season.

I stopped doing this awhile back becuase I got distraught with the forum due to some horrible behavior and 2. I got extremely busy.

++++++++++++++++++

Depth chart is 72 players.

10 players in the Top Quality/ World Class bracket.
31 players in the Quality Bracket.
9 players in good form.
15 players in terrible form or very backwater leagues.
3 players injured or retired from national team.

This is a color scheme of Top Nigerian Players, League quality and club performance.
*Top Quality or World Class! Very Good standing (Top 5 Leagues and Pedigree teasms in CL - Porto, Gala, etc): Must also Play regularly for their clubs
*Quality! Good standing (Next 5 leagues - Belgium, Dutch, Portugal, Turkey, Russia): Must play regularly. Also includes super Subs in Green category.
*Good form/ Top Form. Average to good standing.(Switzerland, Ukraine, Austria, Scotish, MLS etc (BUrsaspor, Eupen, VVV venlo etc): Must Play regularly. Also includes supersubs from Blue Category and chronic bench warmers in Green Category
*. Disappointing/ Very Disappointing. LOW Leagues and unrated.(CHina, Saudi, Egypt, Somalia): Hopelessly on bench.
Injured: Leg temporary decommissioned

CURRENT NIGERIAN SQUAD
Goalkeepers:
1. Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Enyimba) - hmmmm
2. Akpeyi (Orlando Pirates) - Best keeper in SA
3. Francis Uzoho (Anorthosis/Cyprus) - Playing in lowly Cyprus but atleast, he's getting game time.
4. Maduka Okoye - Promoted as 2nd choice in German D1. Nuff said

Defenders:
5. Kenneth Omeruo (CD Leganes /La Liga) - Top Quality. When fit, starts
6. Leon Balogun (Wigan - Championship onloan from Brighton Hove Albion/ENG) - Suffered from a worse form of Kanuism until hes move to championship side Wigan where he has started every game.
7. Troost Ekong (Udinese/Serie A) - Top Quality. Troost is 1 of the top 5 defenders in the Serie A. Was off last 4 games of 2019 but he has bounced back. Many top teams need top CDs and Troost would def get that move next season. But he needs to find his last season form back as he has blown hot and cold in the past 5months.
8. Ola Aina (Torino, Serie A) - Top Quality. Established himself as a true fullback. Very skillful, strong and smart. 1 more season and Chelsea woudl be biting their fingers.
9. Jamilu Colins (Paderborn/ Bundes 2/ GER) - Top Quality. Panderborn's best player. Period.
10. Semi Ajayi (WestBrom/ CHamp/ ENG) - Quality. 2 goals. BEst defender in the Championship. Semi would definitely be in the EPL next season with Westbrom or any other club.
11. Chidozie Awaziem (FC Porto/POR) to (Leganes/Laliga - Loan) - Top Quality. Awaziem has quickly won himself almost a permanent starting shirt at Leganes. Hopefully, he stays in Laliga next season. Something tells me this kid woudl end up been a megastar.
12. Shehu Abdullahi (Bursaspor/TUR)- Dissapointing. Still in Turkish D1. He needs to make a move.

Midfielders:
13.Joe Aribo (Rangers, Scotland - Europa) - Quality. Still the top dog at Rangers. He has now been given a free role to roam and destroy the opponents. But in the past 4months, he's not been a regular starter. Kudos to him for his wonder goal in the Europa
14. Mikel Agu (Vitória Sport Clube, Portugal) - Quality.
15. Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City/ENG) - WORLD CLASS.
16. Alex Iwobi (Everton/EPL) - Quality. Started having a good run of games, then got injured, then got back, then chopped bench under ancelotti. Would he finally show the world his real talent?
17. Ramon Azeez (Granada, Laliga) - Quality. Been starting from bench this year.

Forwards:
18. Samuel Kalu (Bordeaux, Lique 1 France) - Quality.I wonder what happened to this kid. First 1 month was good, then started having bad games and finally got dropped to the bench. Then went to playing as a left wing back and i think thats the bane of his current problem in Bordeuax. I feel his rebelled like his best pally, Simon Moses did in Levante. Played last 2 games before the Covid19 break and was okay. Kalu has still not taken the league by storm likehis other NIgerian
19. Simon Moses (Levante, Laliga on loan to Nantes, Lique 1) - Top Quality 6 goals, 5 assist, he is the bEst player in Nantes.
20. Victor OSimhem (Lille, Lique 1 - Champions League) - Top Quality.6 goals. Only 1 season away from been world class.
21. Paul Onuachi (Genk, BEL - Champions League) - Quality.2 goals. Finally tied down a starting shirt at Genk. Had a good showing in the Champions League. He would own the league next season.
22. Emmanuel Dennis (Club Brugge, Bel - Champions League) - Top Quality. Hot kid on the block.Fantastic dribbler. Def moving to a bigger league and club next season. Dortmund are highly interested. Hes hotness in the CL elevates him to Top quality Status.
23. Ahmed Musa (Al Nasser/ Saudi Arabia) - Dissapointing.
24. Samuel Chukwueze (Villareal, LALIGA) - Quality.2 Goals in league. Boy wonder. Hes been used more off the bench this season. I really wonder why but lets hope he explodes as expected after the Covid break or next season.

ON THE RADAR

1. David Nwokolor (SKF Sered/ Slovakia) -
2. Afelokhai
3. Dele Alampasu (Latvia)- We dey wait
4. Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United/RSA - Kaizer/RSA) -

Defence
5. Chima Akas (Belenses, Portugal): - Quality. The left back moved to portugal this season after a massive season in Sweden. Has started most of their games and proven to be one of the most consistent and reliable left back (and left defense of a 3 man d) in his team and league.
6. Bryan Idowu (Lokomotiv Moscow/RUS)- Good form. Suffers looooong spells on the bench this season but starts when his bencher suffers an injury or suspension. He has lost his place in the SE for good.
7. Tyronne Ebuehi (Benfica/POR) - Injury really did him in and seems not to have picked up form. Still with BenficaII.
8. color=#FF0000]Zaidu Sanusi - Quality. This boy is the real deal. A beast. Probably one of the fatest players in the Portuguese league. Won several MOTM awards already and probably best player in Santa clara. I remember when i unearthed him in portuegues D3, Santa clara had already made several attempts to sign him and once they did, he started matches after 3rd league game. Used to be a winger but got converted to both CD and LB. Zaidu would be a permaenent fixture in SE 22 very soon.

Midfield

9.Anderson Esiti (PAOK, Greece) - Quality. Plays for Greek champions but His team got knocked out from the CL qualifiers. He's started 80% of PAOK's matched and he's been his usual self.
10. Ogenyi Onazi (Denilspur/TUR) - Good form. was ot injured for a season. got back but trabzonspor shipped him out. was the most influential player in the team until the covid19 induced break.
11. Ajagun (Korkijk, Belgium) - Quality. He's back! After a bench filled 1st half of 2018/19 season, he moved to Cyprus on loan for the rest of the season. Returned back to Korkijk this season and started most match for them.
12. Ahmed Isaiah (Gil Vicente, Portugal) - Disappointing. This Attacking Midfielder Played 90% of GIl's matches last season in the lower Division and won them a promotion to the top. Made the bench for alot of their games and came in just 3 times.
13. Azubuike Okechukwu (Basaksehir, Turkey) - Good form. Plays for top turkish team. Started more from the bench. not won a permanent starting shirt.
14. Obiora Nwankwio (Boavista, Portugal) - Quality. Started majority of his team's game this season and when he was on bench, he always came in.
15. Hamdi Akujobi (Herenveen, Netherlands) - Dissapointing. Broke in from the second team last season. Made bench for most of the team's games and subed in for 3 games.
16.Oghenekaro Etebo (Getafe, Laliga loan from Stoke City - Championship) - Top Quality. MOved from 2nd rate league to the best league in the world and playing for high flying Getafe. Etebo has simply picked up a starting shirt playing across 2/3 positions for this team. TOp man.
german guy

Attack
17. Anthony Ujah (Union Berlin, Bundesliga - Germany) -Quality. just 3 goals so far and started alot more from the bench.
18. Suleiman Abdullahi (Union Berlin, Bundesliga - Germany) -Dissapointing. hardly made the cut for union this season.
19. Emem Eduok (Hadjuk Split, Croatia) - Quality. 9 GOals. started alot of mmatches for the cXzech giants.
20. Taiwo Awoniyi (Mainz, Bundesliga) - Dissapointing. 3 sub appearances. We wait.
21. Stephen Odey (Genk, Belgium) - Dissapointing.1 beautiful spinning goal in the CL and thats the only highlight in a dissapointing season for Stephem.
22. Sadiq Umar (Partizan Belgrade, Serbia on loan from Roma, Seria A) - Quality.11 goals afer, he has been in hit ever since he moved to Partizan this season and also in Europe. Lets hope he moves to a better league next season.
23. David Okereke (Club Brugge, Belgium) - Quality. 4 GOals. 2 in Domestic cup. Okereke has blown hot then goes cold a bit. Anyway, still hot for Brugge and woudl def be a starter next season once they ship out their top players.
24. Kelechi Iheanacho(Leicester City/ENG) - Quality. started poor then BANG! Nacho is BACK!
25. Josh maja (Bordeaux, France) - Quality. 7 GOals. since moving to Bordeaux, he's been a super sub and starter when Braind is out injured. If he stays in Bordeaux next season, he's sure to be a starter.
26. Chuba Akpom (Paok) - Good form.7 goals this season. Played in the CL qualifiers but not even a guaranteed starter and more of a super sub.
27. Kayode Larry (Gaziantep, Turkey) - Quality. 9 goals for superlig newbies and started 100% of their matches.
28. Paul Mukairu (Antalyaspor, Turkey) - Quality. 1 GOal. - this 19yr old is a surprise package in the Turkish league and is all round dangerous. 3 goals so far. By next season, he'll be in best mode.
29. Cyril Dessers (Heracles, Netherlands) - Quality. 18 goals in all competition and joint highest goal scorer in the league. Dessers woudl def be in a bigger club/ league next season.
30. Terrem Moffi (KOrjirk, Belgium) - Quality. Destroyed Lithanian league with goals, moved to belgium in January and is probably the best player in the club, scoring and assisting every game until the covid break. Watch out for this lefty kid next season. Powerful, strong, fast and skillful.
31. Jesse Sekidika (Galatasaray, Turkey) - Suprise midseason buy from Turkish D2. Jesse is a slick, fast and skillful player. Made bench alot so far but not had a start yet.
32. Isaac Success (Watford, EPL) - Dissapointing. Heavily on bench and sometimes not making match day. Needs to move.
33.Peter Olayinka (Slavia Parague, Czech - Champions League) - Quality. A starter with his team, he's had top games in the CL. He's rated quality because his in a Tier 3 league but also in the CL.

34. SYlvester Igboun (Dinamo Moscow, RUSSIA) - Quality. STarted as usual 2 Goals has been a hit since his move to Dynamo Moscow this season, and has been a hit.
35. Imoh Ezekiel (Korkijk, Belgium) - Good form.2 goals this season. Starts from the bench more. okay season
36. Chidera Ejuke (Valarenga,NOR) - Quality. Clearly the top 3 best players in the dutch league. Ejuke would tie down a starting 11 shirt in the SE very very soon. Expect him in the Top 4 leagues in another season or an Ajax.
37. Anthony Nwaekaeme (Trabzonspor, Turkey) - Quality. The man with the hammer head. Was hot last season, probably top 5 hottest attackers in Turkey and this season, probably the best. Trabzonspor is leading the league table.
38. Blessing olabitan Muyiwa (Tambov, Russia) - Good form. Benito is a powerful runner and skillful player. Was a starter in most games for the recently failed U23. Moved to Dynamo Kiev this season which got stalled due to covid19 before the season could kickoff.
39. Samuel Adegbenro (Rosenburg, NOR) - Good form.Started every game including Europa for Rosenburg when fit. Was one of the 2 most dangerous players for the team.
40.Henry Onyekuru (Galatasaray, Turk onloan from AS Monaco, Lique 1) - Quality. Torrid time at Monaco and he ran to familiar turf, Gala playing a a turkish league that is of far less quality than the Lique 1 and he's started well there.
41. David Akintola(Rosenburg, NOR) - Good form.JOined Rosenburg this season from Haugasund. 2 beast on the wings with Adegbenro on the left. Was hot but ended up at Nicosia in Cyprus half season (Norwagian season ends Nov). Surprising move considering he was hot in Europa.
42. Sarenren Bazee (Ausburg, Bundesliga) - Good form. Injury has blighted this guys career. Trained with Ausburg II. Started making bench again (and played) last 2 games of the bundesliga before the abrupt halt to world proceeedings.
43. Seyi Ojo (Rangers, Scotland) - Good form. Kid has declared for naij. Started as a regular then ended up as a regular on bench.
44. Hilary Gong (Vitesse, Dutch League) - Dissappointing. Came in against Ajax in the first game of the season and got injured again. Na wa o. Na from village?
45. Aminu Umar (Rizespor, Turkey) - Quality. Regular starter. 3 goals so far

Some players that Dropped off the list
1. Junior Pius (Royal Antwerp/ Bel - Europa) - Started first 3 games, had a collision in one of the games and been injured ever since.
2. Uche Agbo (Standard Liege, Belgium)
3. Tom Dele-Bashiru (Watford, EPL)

Retired
1. Mikel (Trabzonspor/ Turkey)

By next season, we should have 6 new additions to the Top quality. Semi Ajayi, Aribo, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Iheancho, Maja, Dessers, Ejuke, Onyekuru are the possibilities.

We have alot more players climb up to the quality bracket like Ejuke, Dessers, Terrem Moffi, mukairu, umar.

Then we expect the nationality converts to come on board like Eze, saka, Ejaria

We looking good

Chukwueze came on second half for Villarreal away to Celta Vigo. He was clearly the best player plus half when he came on. Made the goal possible in injury time for the 1 - 0 win and was a torn on flesh of all Celta Vigo players on his wing. Unplayable. It seemed the Villareal tactic became just pass to Chukwueze. My question to his coach is, why consistently start him from the bench? :boo:

Awoniyi got injured and was taken off in the 23rd minute. Hope it's not serious. I notice Mainz have been using him on the right as a wide forward and haven't been playing him as a CF. He's look good since the Bundesliga resumed, but not sure they will get the best from him out wide.

Aina had a really good cameo for Torino ran his flank and created point blank chances for his useless teammates.

Could it be that Ndidi is moving on at Leicester?
But rumors are on that they are in on Portuguese DM
And former Arsenal target William Carvalho?
Will be an interesting watch.

Aina had an ok game vs Cagliari, started as LWB moved to RB in the second half when they were 3-0 down, he assisted the first goal for his team as they tried to come back, but looked tired as the game wore on subbed in the 73rd minute. Dunno why the British bobos like Aina and Iwobi can’t seem to last 90 minutes.

Moses has a magical cameo, came on with 20 mins to go, Inter down 1-0, Inter won 2-1 with Moses getting a beautiful assist. Ball was so perfect the scorer couldn’t believe his luck.
