What a shame that such a promising player ended up regressing in his career. Anyway, good luck to Godfrey for the rest of his career.

His career was ruined by greedy agents, who only thought about their pockets and not the player's future.Paveman wrote:What a shame that such a promising player ended up regressing in his career. Anyway, good luck to Godfrey for the rest of his career.
They were asking for silly money for a player who had never played in Europe. Arsene Wenger saw his potentials and wanted him to move to France for his development but his agents thought he was the finished product.
Offers from France, Spain, Germany and Holland were rejected and an obscure Turkish club with no history of player development offered the most money and that's where he ended up. The rest is history.
I am happy

The saddest thing is that none of those home based players in the 2013 AFCON winning set made any progress in their careers after that feat, Mba, Egwueke, Oshaniwa, Egwueke, Uzoenyi? Kai!

So na keshi to blame that his club career never kicked up? To also emphasize Obaobona greed, he changed agents to complete his Saudi deal. the agent that was first offered him to a Saudi club, wasn't the agent he used to complete the deal..
He should have gone to France when Wenger started talking to his people, but also Wenger should have added jara to his money.

Isnt this the same club that is owned by Chief Shina Opelumi Batumi?
