the fat lady already sang...this one's done..
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.
We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Hindsights 20-20 but can't help wondering if a 4-1-4-1 starting formation with Adams in the holding role would not have worked better for RB

Maybe, maybe not. I think the goals they conceded, especially the first two were clearly nerves. Even the one the goalkeeper wired at Neymar I am not sure they'd have been able to compete with PSG at this CL level.txj wrote:Hindsights 20-20 but can't help wondering if a 4-4-1 starting formation with Adams in the holding role would not have worked better for RB

Will be interesting to see how Lyon manage that side of the game. Although it will be a much different dynamic as Rudi Garcia is expert at managing space in the defensive zone...
