Of all the transfer rumours, I think Emi to AV and Guendo out of favour are just plain barmy at this point in time.

If we need to sell Emi to raise funds well certainly not to AV, a potential rival for the PL. If I had my way, I'd sell Leno instead but definitely not to a PL club.

What is wrong with our footballing decision hierachy?

By the way, I's satisfied with the general direction of travel with Mikel Arteta in charge.

AV is not a rival. Martinez refused a new contract and can raise a good fee to help the club improve the midfield. Even after Leno performance yesterday you will still sell him and keep Martinez. All I can say is I am glad the old regime of letting players run down their contract is over.

Looks like Martinez is about to join Villa for 20 MP.

Sad to see him go, but he refused to renew his contract and he deserves to play regularly. Wish him the best.

Arsenal is making good money on academy players, 27 MP for Iwobi last year, 20 MP for Emi this year.

I will be upset if we don't use the money to get a midfielder like Partey.

I don't see anything wrong with the decision to sell Emi, and I wouldn't sell Leno instead. Best wishes to Emi though, he's a solid keeper.

David Raya linked to Arsenal, replacement for Emi Martinez.

I would prefer a loan, with option to buy for 6 MP.

Looks like they want 10 MP for Raya. That is too pricy for me. But we are selling Martinez for 20 MP. Solid backup for Arsenal. Don't give up on Macy yet. He can turn out to be a good GK with more experience. He is 6'7. We also have other good young goalkeepers coming through the academy.

Yes, just saw that report.

Looks like a good solid backup. Sad to see Emi go, but this is the right move for Arsenal FC and for Emi Martinez.

If arsenal signs Rashica that means no more Aouar because they play in same position. Personally, I would love to see Partey in that MF.

Transfer market is showing Rashica value is about 24MP. Maybe one of the cheaper alternatives Arsenal is looking at.

£10m is too much for a backup goalie considering we're trying to raise funds to beef up other first team positions.

Arsenal for life, but Leno is a very good GK. Proved it against Fulham.

Recency bias is a bad look - they're about the same age - hence we have enough evidence to judge them over time. Emi after a zillion loan spells away with teams not in a hurry to sign him blew up when Leno got injured.
He & his agent embark on some emotional blackmail cos he wants to play for Argentina - what happened to winning the no.1 spot at Arsenal on merit(nah, he wants guarantees). So cos Leno ain't all over the gram & elsewhere giving us reality TV lite tales - he ain't good enough..
You also know Emi forced this trade - right from the 1st week or so after the F.A. cup win, all we saw in the media was stories of 10 clubs out to sign him - gotta ask why the real big clubs ain't out here busting a gut for his signature.
sample size of success is very small - Leno's been classy, professional & willing to fight for his spot!!!
Hope Emi stays consistent & gets the Argentina gig but we ain't getting zilch twisted - no way!!!
If I give you a good wine, you will see how it tastes and after you ask where it comes from,'' ""To put players in my team who are not good enough will not strengthen the England team, and would weaken the Arsenal team.''The only thing I can say is that whenever England do not win it is always my fault, even when I am not at the game".Wenger said.

The Rashica reference concerns Aston Villa, not Arsenal. Fabrizio was referring to Villa.

I hope we can now move on we have our third keeper make let him and macey now battle for second spot. Good luck to Emi and thank you for serving us well and helping us win two cups

But football na still business and it was better to sell than let him walk for a free.
