Chris Wilder - Sheffield United

Post by Cally »

I find Chris Wilder simply refreshing. This man just keeps it simple and solid. With all the crap that comes out the mouths of these pundits, its just refreshing to hear someone keep it just simple.

I love his answer today after their loss to Wolves:

More from Chris Wilder, who is asked by Match of the Day if he is worried about 'second season syndrome': "Second season syndrome, all the things they come out with it is stuff we can't get involved in. We have just got to get our heads down and try and play our football. The players are going into it with one year under their belt.

"Everyone gets asked the question whether you win a game or lose a game. It comes with the territory, we just get our heads down and look forward to the next game. We will handle it, we will take it on the chin. Wolves did more than enough to win a game of football and they're off and running. We go onto the next game looking for our first three points."

Forget all the sound bites and wind-ups. Put your head down and work harder. Simples!

"My friends - "We need to really reassess the way we trash our national team, derogate some players and disrespect the people that run our football. Let the brand new Super Eagles become our new Brand of national pride.. The unifying identity for all.. Bar none!" - CE's The Great Seloweizer (6/24/13)

Anyone watching game of knows the answer casts roots that reach far deeper. The Blades were uncharacteristically blunt, fitness, short pre-season etc played its part, but the lack of quality can’t be understated. Sharp and McBurnie were both garbage, Fleck couldn’t dictate as usual and even the overlapping centrebacks took an age to overlap. Hardly cause for town criers, but certainly feel they need a little bit more.

At some point, be it first or second season, talents begins to outweigh stamina... it’s the reason Allardyce Bolton is in Free fall after the heights Djorkaef and Jay Jay took them
"That Justice is a blind goddess
Is a thing to which we blacks are wise.
Her bandage hides two festering sores
That once perhaps were eyes."
