Algeria vs Mexico

Post by YUJAM »

I am watching the game at the moment and I must say the Algerians are no joke. Pity any top African side that ends up in a WC group with them, because they aren't making it.

Algeria missed an opportunity to be ranked high on the FIFA rankings. Undeniably Africa’s best team right now❗️

Cheers.

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

The worldcup groups have been released (2019) maybe you meant the playoffs...ghana and SA are in the same WC group. CIV and CMR are also paired together

...Algerians rubbing off of Mahrez's professionalism.
Like most (African) teams will do, look up to their current star from a big club.
Mexico can be tenacious side, you wanna beat them, beat 'em huge and early else they will chase you till the end.

I told people Algeria is no joke.

And they want to fire Rohr for losing to them in the very last minute.

They outplayed Mexico with 10 men, and also beat Colombia 3-0 last year.

At the ANC they twice beat Africa's top ranked side Senegal twice shutting them out completely both times.

Sometimes things need to be put in perspective.

Bros, this also shows the affects of having a proper coach (which we don't), in 2 years he's built this team into a force using the same set of players Rohr dominated home and away. But also its a friggin friendly who cares, we tied Brazil also, so why should a tie with Mexico mean we shouldn't be able to compete with them? Abegi with proper coaching we should be able to compete, we just need that little more from the coaching department to push us over the edge, we have the players. I don't see a defensive/conservative/negative coach like Rohr as he one to do it...

don't mind them, they keep blaming the players...when the major issue with the SE is coaching

The Algeria coach has done a good job, but its not as if he built them from scratch. Like u said, same set of players that Rohr dominated, but also same set of players that took world champions Germany to extra time in 2014. Coach Belmadi simply brought Algeria back to their prior form. They had a serious dip after 2014, partially why we destroyed them. Even Zambia had their way with them.

Friendly or not it is clear Algeria is a very good side, and u are kidding yourself if you think otherwise. They ARE better than us, and its not just because of Rohr, they were better than us back at the WC 2014 as well. If you compare their WC to ours that year, they were far superior.

I am not saying Rohr cannot seriously improve, but it is the height of arrogance to demand a coach to be sacked for losing to a superior team (Argentina, Croatia, Algeria) especially when all of those superior teams needed elements of luck to beat us.

Of course Rohr is not the best coach, nobody will disagree, but what is the better option that we can afford ?

That is where everyone is silent, and frankly I would rather the devil we know in Rohr than some other devil who will open SE up to "brown envelope" God forbid.

Have u forgotten what we had to deal with with our last 3 I degenous coaches ? No way will I clamor for that.

Thank God for YouTube. This is the all conquering Algerian team and the scary Mexican team they're talking about. FIFA should cancel the next 2 world cups and award them to these 2 teams in alphabetical order.

The Algeria goalie looks like a basket unless he's not their starting gk.
