Where were u when we for the most part struggled against minnows.Bigpokey24 wrote:Minnows makes any team look good
Struggling against minnows is something I have always remembered Nigeria doing, for decades.

How sweet it was to defeat 'minnows' like CIV on our way to winning 2013 ANC

I’m sure there’s a list of teams in Africa that the so called minnows of Africa would like to play and beat and Nigeria isn’t far from the top of their list, no one sits back allows Nigeria to roll them over!wanaj0 wrote:Especially minnows like Madagascarvancity eagle wrote:Where were u when we for the most part struggled against minnows.Bigpokey24 wrote:Minnows makes any team look good

Re: Super Eagles Before COVID Break
At the time the result was highly criticised since Tahiti actually scored a goal and everyone else in the group battered them,I don’t think Tahiti can compete with so called African minnows such as Lesotho and Swaziland let alone Madagascar and Benin Republic!Tahiti celebrated a Spanish penalty miss when they where 8-0 down.

Jokes on you. Madagascar will absolutely smash Tahiti. Remember Madagascar got to the AFCON quarterfinals only to lose to Tunisia. They can no longer be classed as minnows.

What don’t know is that was their highest achievement since the country was founded And would probably stay an unbroken record there for another 50 yrsAdisboy wrote:Jokes on you. It seems you are not up to date with Madagascar. Have you checked the current AFCON qualifiers? They are currently like us topping their group with the maximum 6 points (2 wins out of 2) in group the includes Ivory Coast. Their last game, 6-2 thrashing of Niger, away in Niamey, something we've never done. So on current form you'll still call them minnows?jette1 wrote:What don’t know is that was their highest achievement since the country was founded And would probably stay an unbroken record there for another 50 yrsAdisboy wrote:Jokes on you. Anyone that still considers Madagascar to be minnows definitely hasn't been following his football lately, the same Madagascar currently top their ANC qualifier group with some significant points ahead of almighty Ivory Coast...

Sarcasm or no, Madagascar are no longer a team you can classify with the Lesothos, Seychelles, etc of this world. Go back and watch how the totally dismantled Niger 6-2 away. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4TTgz3b_UM. Madagascar currently would at least be at the level of teams like Zambia, Guinea, South Africa, DR Congo, etc. Underrate them at your own riskfabio wrote:Madagascar is now an African footballing giant. These highlights are from the AFCON quarterfinals. So you agree with me. Minnows don't get to the AFCON last 8.Bigpokey24 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_y5_H4 ... ure=oneboxAdisboy wrote:Sarcasm or no, Madagascar are no longer a team you can classify with the Lesothos, Seychelles, etc of this world. Re: Super Eagles Before COVID Break
Losing 3-0 in the last 8 of a continental tournament doesn’t equate to being a minnow bigger teams lost by heavier or similar score lines in the group stage and went home.Bigpokey24 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_y5_H4 ... ure=oneboxAdisboy wrote:Sarcasm or no, Madagascar are no longer a team you can classify with the Lesothos, Seychelles, etc of this world.
