Nigeria has actually qualified for the AFCON, with 2 games to spare.
Lesotho and Benin played a 0-0 draw in Maseru earlier today, meaning Nigeria needed a draw to qualify.

From the BBC...
A tepid end to a tepid game. Nigeria have dropped four points of a possible six and now Sierra Leone have two matches to fight back.

If you'd have given them this before the qualifiers, they would have taken it.

But the story of this round of home-and-away games will be that Nigeria bungled a four-goal lead and will now have to wait four months to be certain of qualifying for Cameroon 2022.

Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tunisia, Mali, have all stumbled along the way of this qualification.

Ivory Coast and Ghana have lost games. We have not lost any games.

Anybody who thinks these type of things do not happen, does not know or understand African football.

We still lead our group, we will qualify. It isn't always straight forward for Nigeria, or any of the top teams in Africa.

People are being emotional and on top of that arrogant.
