We've gotten a couple of confirmations here and clearly a lot of you know him much more intimately beyond this forum so I will spare any attempt at a tribute and allow you guys to do that. I bought his book a couple of years ago and enjoyed his non CE writing over the years.

Truly one of the larger figures on this board and will be truly missed on here and in real life.

Even if it happened 5 mins ago, how is this not at least 10 pages.
A legend, a great man, a brilliant man who I was supposed to in 7 days is gone.

It’s now looking like the rumour is real. Very sad day for CE . May the Lord comfort his family and loved ones.

I pray we as CE along with friends close and afar will step up big time and do a befitting tribute.
He has a beloved son, Antoine.
When I have energy I will write a whole lot that’s in my heart. Spoke with him last Tuesday. Said I would see him next week in Owerri. Threatened him not to travel and wait for me. He said, “you know I have health problems so we’ll see if I am still alive.” I laughed out loud as if it were a joke but he was telling me the end was near and I missed the blinking red light!
He would normally request parmesan cheese, and a few other treats that were hard to get at home any time I would go back or my dad would travel.
This time it was like pulling teeth to get him to request anything.
In fact, he didn’t. He said he would get back to me. And he did today.
So heart broken.

I am struggling to come to terms with his passing. He has been active on facebook where we would trade banter over his postings or mine. Some of us the CE members rendezvous there as well.

I am at a loss here, this 2020 of a year really scares me now, nothing is safe, nothing is out of touch, nothing is unthinkable and nothing is untouchable. I have never seen a year like this one.

SUYA was witty, funny and someone I was hoping I would meet in person someday. Strange we never met in real life but I have known him online for about 18 years, now. I went to the Uni with his junior brother, but it was years later that I even discovered they were brothers.

I am still trying to come to terms with his passing. I cannot believe I an bidding him farewell this way.

Farewell SUYA and rest in perfect peace.

Unbelievable. Really sad news. Rest on, big brother Suya. We miss you already...you used your great talents to positively impact our lives. Thank you for being an inspiration and building the CE community.

I remembered him when I began posting here a few years ago. I never got to know him as i have gotten to know some posters from our interactions on this forum but enjoyed his joviality and how he got along with many posters here. I didn't even know he resided in Nigeria or that he was ill. I am definitely sorry and sad regarding his passing. I wish him a successful crossing. May he make many good friends there. May they be literate and may they treat him with love and with respect.
