Fulham manager Scott Parker has showered encomium on Ademola Lookman following his performance against Tottenham Hotspur in Wednesday’s Premier League game.

The Nigerian forward has been delivering fine displays since he teamed up with the Craven Cottage outfit in the summer on a season-long loan from German club RB Leipzig.

Lookman was afforded his 13th Premier League appearance for the Cottagers against the Lilywhites and again made a telling impact in the encounter.

The forward was brought on in the second half of the game as a replacement for Kenny Tete and helped his side avoid defeat.

Lookman provided a key assist for Ivan Cavaleiro to cancel out Harry Kane’s first-half opener and ensured his side ended the match with a share of the points.

Fulham boss Parker has expressed his delight with the contribution of the Nigerian star against Jose Mourinho’s men.

"After the Covid-19 problems, he came on and showed his quality. He helped the team with the assist and boosted his chances with us," Parker told BBC Sports.

"The second half, the way the game was going I felt the second goal was coming. You have someone on the pitch there like Ademola Lookman who carves chances out of nothing.”

Lookman has now made 15 appearances for Fulham since joining the Premier League club, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

Despite the draw against Tottenham, the Craven Cottage outfit remains in the bottom three with 12 points from 16 games.

Lookman will be expected to continue his fine form when Fulham square off against Chelsea in their next Premier League match on Saturday.

The forward played for Charlton Athletic before joining Everton in 2017 and spent two years with the side.

Lookman left the Goodison Park outfit for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in 2019 after his inability to establish himself at the club.

The winger has featured for England youth teams but has pledged his allegiance to the Nigeria national team.

Having completed his switch to the West African country, he will hope to continue his impressive performances for Fulham for a chance to get a call-up to the Super Eagles.

If true then that's great news, surely there's no reason why he shouldn't make the squad for the March games with all things been equal...

The boys are back vs Man U, another tough game but they're been playing very well. Its an uphill task but with a little luck they may be able to get a result.

Manager Scott Parker on Lookman after Man U Game:

Can you tell us about Lookman's role in the centre?

We changed it up tonight in terms of Ade and getting central and I thought he was first class. Obviously it worked to a tee with the first goal. He had a lot of time on his hands when he went through and his finish was deadly.

We've been looking at ways where we can get people in the right areas, that can score the goals for us and that worked.
He is going to be vital for us this year. Everyone has seen in a short space of time he's been with us he's quality, outstanding. He's a player in this team that score goals for us. That's what we need and he proved that tonight.

Is Lookman the sort of player who will relish the pressure?

Yeah for sure he will. He needs to relish it. Big player. Young player still who is thriving and getting a run of games he's probably not had over the last couple of years. He's operating in the best league in the world against the best defenders and showing his quality every single week. He's a huge player, someone who is going to be the difference-maker at the top end of the pitch. He needs to keep on improving and doing that.

NOT FUL OF HIMSELF
Tosin Adarabioyo leaves ego at the door as he focusses on helping the Cottagers climb the Premier League table

TOSIN ADARABIOYO will never allow the rave reviews he is receiving at Fulham get to his head.

That is because the defender has a motto – Ego Is The Enemy.

Tosin Adarabioyo has fast established himself as a Fulham fans' favourite

Fulham ace Tosin was a £2million bargain buy from Manchester City
Tosin, 23, has been a revelation since Scott Parker snapped him up from Manchester City in October and will be one of the first names on the team sheet when they host Chelsea on Saturday.

The £2million Fulham paid Manchester City in October is turning out to be the bargain of the season.

Here are some superlatives used by fans to describe his form on social media: “Class”, “Fantastic”, “Faultless”, “A beast”, “Commanding” and, maybe slightly over-enthusiastically “World’s best defender!"

But his calm and mature performances have helped the Cottagers put together a run of just one defeat in their last seven Premier League games.

So what does Tosin make of all the plaudits?
He said: “I’ve just finished reading a good book called Ego Is The Enemy. It’s all about the evils of having a big ego.
“You must never think you’re bigger than you are.

“If you have players who think everything is about them and not put the team first, in football it’ll quickly be to the side’s downfall.
“This can especially happen at clubs that have previously been successful. People can start to grow egos and then struggle to replicate their achievements.
“You can’t rest on your laurels. You must keep humble and working hard to not just maintain but improve your level.”

His performance in the 1-1 draw at Tottenham on Wednesday was exceptional.
His superb goal-saving tackle to deny Harry Kane was particularly impressive.

It was certainly one he was proud of as he posted an image of his outstretched right boot taking the ball off the England striker on his Twitter page within an hour of the game.
And he wittily wrote “(Copy and paste) Another point” – in reference to Fulham’s fifth consecutive Premier League draw.

Asked how much practice he puts into timing such tackles to perfection and remains so calm under pressure, Adarabioyo is typically modest.
He told me: “It’s just instinct and experience. Other than practicing sliding tackles, it’s not something I prepare.
“It’s my style of play. That’s how I enjoy playing football.
“I would say the calmness is more my style of life.
“I’m mature naturally. It’s hard to describe but I’d say I’m very relaxed and don’t get stressed by anything.
“But I prefer talking about the team. People are starting to look at Fulham as a side that can beat anyone.
“We’re starting to get the respect we deserve.”

Tosin has excelled in a back three that gave Fulham a mean streak.
He is not wrong there. The West Londoners lost seven of their opening nine Premier League matches – but since Scott Parker switched to a back three of Tosin, Joachim Andersen and Ola Aina they have been rock solid.
In their five straight draws – a run that included points against Liverpool, Spurs and Southampton – they have kept two clean sheets and only conceded three goals.

And Tosin said: “Since we went to a back three, everyone seems to know what they’re doing and we’ve got players in the right positions to show their strengths.”
But he knows Fulham must start turning draws into wins.
Bobby Reid is their top scorer with four while Ademola Lookman, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ivan Cavaleiro only have two apiece.

And Tosin said: “To beat Leicester, draw against Liverpool and Tottenham, shows how good a side we are.
“We all know we can beat any team but must be more clinical up top – and I don’t just mean strikers. All of us need to chip in more.”
And the Fulham ace is critical of his own lack of goals – even though he is a defender.
Tosin scored three goals in 33 Championship starts on loan at Blackburn last season – and is yet to net in his 12 Premier League starts this term.

He said: “I need to improve my offensive heading and get more goals from set-pieces.
We all know we can beat any team but must be more clinical up top – and I don’t just mean strikers. All of us need to chip in more.”

“My goal stats were average growing up through the youth ranks at Manchester City.
“But I do find myself getting on the end of a few free-kicks and corners and just haven’t been able to direct them on target.
“It’s something I know I need to work on in training.”

Tosin loves working under Parker, who he says is both “demanding” and “motivational”.
And he added: “He demands the best and is a joy to play for.
“The manager is ambitious. He knows he has a squad of good players and keeps telling us to believe we’re a good side.
Boss Scott Parker has been a joy to play under says Fulham ace Tosin
“When I go into matches, it’s clear what he requires from me. His preparation and information he passes on is very detailed and that’s a great credit to Scott.”

Tosin had been with City since he was six and captained the under-18s when he was just 14 – but says the decision to leave the club was easy.
Although Pep Guardiola had spoken highly of the defender in the past, he failed to make a single Premier League appearance for the club.
He made two Champions League starts, two in the League Cup and one in the FA Cup.

The Fulham ace explained: “I knew it was time to move on if I wanted to play Premier League football.
“It was enjoyable playing pretty much every game last season at Blackburn and Fulham gave me an opportunity to hopefully continue doing that.”

If he continues in the way he has started at Fulham, it will surely only be a matter of time before England boss Gareth Southgate takes a serious look at him.
Tosin played for all the England age groups up to under-19s.
But he would only say: “I just want to fulfil what I’m capable of – and that’s to be a top player.”

Fulham aim to win their first Premier League London derby since 2008 when they face Chelsea.
They ended a run of 13 straight losses against a capital rival in the top flight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
I want to fulfil what I’m capable of – and that’s to be a top player.”
Tosin said: “We set out our stall to win at Tottenham but, on reflection, it was a good point when you consider we only knew we were playing them on Monday.
“I didn’t know about that London derby record but it’s something we can build on by beating Chelsea.”

TV pundit Jamie Carragher may well be eating his words at the end of season.
He said earlier in the campaign he was “more certain of anything in his life” that Fulham would be relegated?
The Fulham ace said: “Well, I have full belief we’ll have a successful season so let's see who is proven right.”

My money is on Tosin.

Ingurland should leave this one for us abeg. He’s steadily improving and that back three have done really well so far. We need him and Lookman for SE!
It seems there's no going back on the Naija application for both Ade & Tosin according to OwnGoalNigeria. See link

These guys are recycling each others' news stories. 'Owngoalnigeria' quoting 'The Sun' quoting 'AOI' quoting Tunde Adelakun...

The original comment goes back to almost exactly a year ago, made by Adelakun.
That's a long time and one wonders what is holding everything up if its true.

Fingers crossed sha, but "anytin can happun. Da'as fu'ball".

Loftus Cheek has got to be one of the most overrated players of all time. It's so annoying it's not enough funny.

Removing Lemina instead of Loftus Cheek during this game will probably be one of the single most influential decision in Fulham's expected relegation. It's a shame really, but what do you expect - all of them are either rejects of Chelsea, Man City and Everton or championship level players. It is annoying really.

Just my take.

I read people raving about Tosin Adarabioyo. Fine. I have my misgivings about that kid. Yes, he played for City but there is a reason City could not get more than $2 million in a deal for that him. You may want to watch his game. You get the idea that his ceiling is not that high. Really aggravating is his tendency to always go down while tackling. In my view, when a defender does that a lot it is a red flag and a penalty lurking nearby. He really has to get rid of those lounging tackles, IMHO.

Just my tuppence.

Tosin is a baller. It is the whole team that is not very decent. And the BBC just awarded the MOM to Ruben Loftus Cheek. That explains why British coaches are not at the highest level. How anyone watches that game and gives MOM to Cheek must mean it as a tongue in cheek.

Prof, is this based on just one game? I didn't watch today's match so i guess he had a bad game today. But from what i have watched from severally games this season he, Aina & Andersen ( the back 3) have been top notch. I guess everyone is due a bad game from time to time. The reason Fulham are where they are is because save from Lookman, their forwards are very poor, hence a wingback is their top scorer.
