Re: Musa Set To Join West Brom
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... nuary.htmlWEst Brom risk LOSING chance to sign free agent Ahmed Musa with no funds left after a busy January window... with Burnley, Southampton and Brighton ready to swoop for the forward
Ahmed Musa is a free agent after terminating his deal with Saudi side Al-Nassr
The striker has trained with West Brom and impressed manager Sam Allardyce
The Baggies are running low on funds after a busy January transfer window
A host of Premier League clubs are ready to jump in to steal the Nigerian star
They have asked about a loan though Albion would prefer a permanent transfer. That would free up some wages but free agent Musa may yet pursue other options with the likes of Burnley, Southampton, Brighton and CSKA Moscow all understood to be either willing to make him an offer or inviting him in to train with them instead.
That leaves West Brom facing the prospect of losing Musa to one of their rivals.

Relegation should not be Musa's concern, bros. Why exactly should he care? Does he not get paid? At this point in his career his main motivation is to play for a top club --- Premier League or the next level close to his family. His primary concern is earning wages to build the future. Nothing else. He is already skipper of the SE and is not like he is a rookie looking to catch the eyes of some SE scout.

He should care because a) WBA is NOT a top club and b) they'll be playing in the second division next season.Enugu II wrote:YeyeMan,The YeyeMan wrote:WBA will be relegated. He should avoid.

As for the first point it probably makes no difference for Musa as he's been playing for Al Jazeera Astros for the past 3 or 4 years and should no longer be picked for the national team as he hasn't had a good game since the last WC.

Nope. If they go down why does it matter? He can go down with them if they pay his wages. He will still be close to his family. Alternatively, they can dump his wages and he will seek out another club preferably one close to his family in London.

Musa knows he is at the tail of his time with SE. Basically, he just needs to get to one more AFCON and perhaps WC. After that, he will be boded with all the traveling and will really want to be home with his small family. His priority is no longer playing for the best club. Things change as people age. Bros, it isn't fun traveling all the time and being away from a young family. That matters.

Cool. I'm glad the SE is being used to feather Musa's nest and help ensure he gets to spend quality time with family. If travelling and being away from his family is a priority then he knows what he need to do.Enugu II wrote:

It doesn't matter to me with Musa's team gets relegated - I wish him and his team well - but it's an irrelevance now. He's spent the last few years wandering the Arabian desert with Ali Baba and the forty thieves so he shouldn't be a factor in the national team.

WestBrom has apparently turned down Musa claiming they have better options.
So Musa is not good enough for the second worst team in EPL.
Hopefully Rohr can do the right thing and END Musa SE career.
The guy has NO BUSINESS in SE.

Musa’s Career: From World Cup Heroics to West Brom Rejection
Ahmed Musa’s Career: From World Cup Heroics to West Brom Rejection
By: Daniel Moxon | February 11, 2021
After finishing coolly beyond the helpless Sergio Romero, Nigeria were level once again against Argentina – and interest in Ahmed Musa‘s career went through the roof.
This Group F encounter proved to be one of the more enthralling games of the 2014 World Cup. Lionel Messi scored twice to steal the headlines. But there was another man who got a brace that day and, with it, a lot of attention.
Both of Musa’s goals came shortly after Argentina’s talisman had given them a slender lead. Twice Messi found the back of Vincent Enyeama’s net. Twice more the man wearing the number seven for Nigeria clawed his country back into the tie.
The Super Eagles would lose the game. Marcos Rojo‘s 50th-minute touch to steer Ezequiel Garay‘s header into the net proved to be the match-winning moment. But Musa had announced himself on the biggest stage of all.
Musa: From World Cup Stardom to West Brom Rejection
Newfound Stardom
It’s curious how even just one eye-catching performance in the World Cup can change your entire career trajectory. Just ask James Rodriguez, whose stellar showings in that same tournament led to a mega-money move to Real Madrid.
But despite a lot of speculation, Musa stayed loyal to employers CSKA Moscow. He was well rewarded, as the following summer he was handed a new four-year deal which boosted his earnings – and the amount the Russian side could demand for their prized asset.
To this point, Ahmed Musa’s career had taken him to Nigeria to Russia via a spell in the Netherlands with VVV Venlo, but he was yet to test his ability in one of Europe’s so-called top five leagues. That all changed in July 2016, when Leicester City came calling.
The Foxes were the Premier Lague champions and prepared for a European campaign by signing the Nigerian for £16.6 million. It was a new club record, heaping extra pressure on their new star striker to perform.
This was his big break, but ultimately Musa was a box office flop in the Midlands. Goals in back-to-back games against Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur were promising, but they proved to be his only Premier League strikes in two years with Leicester.
He appeared in just one matchday squad in the first half of the 2017/18 season – he was an unused substitute in a loss away at Liverpool. After rotting in the reserves for so long, Musa, now aged 25, was handed a lifeline with a return to CSKA on loan.
The forward left Leicester permanently at the end of that season, joining Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. There he stayed until October 2020, when he departed as a free agent.
West Brom Rejection Sees Ahmed Musa’s Career Stall Further
Now aged 28, Musa is without a club and his career is in danger of ending prematurely after such a bright start.
He was training with West Bromwich Albion at the beginning of February. But the Express and Star has now reported the Baggies will not offer him a deal.
Last November he was linked with another English side, Championship relegation-battlers Sheffield Wednesday. However, Musa himself told the BBC this was not in his career plans.
“With due respect to the club, I left Saudi Arabia to continue my career at the top level in Europe and that’s the ambition,” he was quoted as saying.
Ambition is great, but to play at the top you need to take your chances when you get there. This is not something he has done in the past, and he may not get another opportunity.
After standing toe to toe with Lionel Messi as a fearless youngster, Ahmed Musa’s career has fizzled out in a way no-one could have predicted.

Nigerian players need to strike when the Iron is hot! Why move to Saudi Arabia at 24 and after a good World cup outing? He had the chance move to a good club in Europa after the World cup but blew it. You can’t have everything in life, either you go for arab money or you stay in a competive environment to remain relevant and increase your market value.

Although Allardyce was open to taking him on and involving him in his squad, the club weren’t in a position financially to reach an agreement with Musa and his representatives.
That was after they strengthened the forward and midfield departments by striking a trio of loan arrangements before the deadline.

“More players would have had to have left to have funded that one. It’s a shame that Musa didn’t get in or come in earlier, obviously because of Covid he couldn’t make it.

We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand

He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.
Gary Neville: Mirror: 12/23/14
I think Spain’s by far the best league.
