I saw both. His primarily role though is to win balls and make the short pass to the open man. If you watch his game closely you will notice many of his passes are lateral or backwards. Not knocking him, just describing what I see. He is a quality DM, but two way CMs are in higher demand.

Ndidi's passing has improved/changed manifold since Brendan Rodgers came to Leicester...
Not only the quality, but he now more often than not turns with the ball and passes forward (unless Tielemans is nearby).

You just described Mikel at Chelsea, Ndidi is different, he takes more responsibility on the field especially since Rogers took charge. You can even see him instructing the players where to pass the ball.
