Re: Helen Nkwocha - First female coach of mens european team.

Nice to hear that some are breaking new ground, Just saw an article about this lady Helen Nkwocha being the first female coach of a European top-flight men's team Okay , its just faroe Island , and the team is facing relegation, but still a milestone. It is inspirational that she decided to drop he...

Re: Well....these games happen.

Amodu never lost a qualifier! What’s Amodu’s overall record in all games? I don't have the exact numbers but it is very very impressive. We sacked him for losing in 2 semi-finaks to teams that got to the WC quarter finals a few months later. Going by memory .... between 2001 when he took over our f...

Goal and assist for Sadiq against Girona. The clip includes a second assist that didn't result in a goal. Click to watch on youtube.

E11, I believe Baba #$% Mohammed played for Mighty Jets before joining Raccah Rovers. I was an avid follower of the Green Eagles in those days and I had exercise books full of national teams squads that I copied from newspapers back then. His name just does not ring a bell. I remember the Algiers 7...

Re: EII: An interesting story on Ahmed Abubakar of Raccah (& Yakubu Mohammed)

Interesting, though, as is always the case with feature-length articles on Nigerian footballers, I am always left not really knowing much more about them than I would know from the statistics of their careers. Not sure I've ever seen a proper documentary done on a Nigerian legend, you know, with int...

Re: Chidi Nwanu on Super Eagles

My worst moment in football was losing out to Italy and we lost to Italy due to indiscipline. Somebody fouled you and you were in possession of the ball and the referee said play on, and you, instead, kicked the ball out of the field. You stood there complaining and they took a throw in, you were s...

Re: Chidi Nwanu on Super Eagles

Chidi Nwanu was a key justification for FIFA's change of the back pass rule. About the only pass he could manage was to the goalkeeper. I will not punish myself with any Super Eagles tale he has to tell. Really? Chidi Nwanu caused FIFA to change the back-pass rule?   Now that I thin...

Re: Chidi Nwanu on Super Eagles

He didn't get along with Keshi No vex, but this is a bit of a misrepresentation. It makes it seem like it was pettiness or a personality clash. What he said is Keshi (RIP) vetoed his invitation to the Eagles in order to prevent Nwanu from replacing Keshi in central defence. Personally, when I saw t...

I love Enugu and respect the man. It's nothing about him. This thread clearly shows favoritism. I have already started a thread with this same discussion. Why didn't the likes of Cellular merge this thread with mine? If it was others now, they will be quick to merge and justified in doing so. Actua...

Re: A Brief History of The Nigerian Jersey.

So far, Nigeria had four different shirt suppliers - Erima (1980-1984), Admiral (1984-1987), Adidas (1988–1994 & 2002-2014) and Nike (1994–2002 & 2015-present). Adidas where lazy and never lived up to the 94 kit that was impressive from the socks to the neck! First question: Were any of our...

Re: A Brief History of The Nigerian Jersey.

LOL. Jokes aside, you make some good points and those points reflect my thoughts exactly when I first opened this thread hoping to read about a REAL HISTORY of Nigeria's colors that goes back to the first Nigerian team of 1949. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Nevertheless, let me share the mu...

I hate to be "that dude" .... but as Africans living on Planet Earth, maybe someone should first translate what the European singer is saying before we decide whether it is a "funny song" from our perspective.
