Re: ENYEAMA: Open to return as Nigeria's Goalkeeper
Why did he retire in the 1st place if he was always open to the idea of returning? or is he referring to a last resort situation, a one off period i.e Paul Scholes who came back from retirement for 6 months at Man Utd during a injury crisis of the 2012/13 season.

Re: Victor Osimhen vs Tammy Abraham
I prefer Osimhen. Largely because he plays at a better level at his worst. When Tammy is not at his best, he can look abysmal at times (I think Osimhen has more in his arsenal). This may change in time though but basically I believe that Osimhen is the more reliable player of the two currently. That...

Re: 1st half and Tammy is 2 goals up against Wolves.
Pinnick needs to stop goofing around with Tammy Abraham's pops and talk to Fikayo Tomori ASAP. We need a top class defender to replace Balogun. Also why hasn't the NFF approached Eze and Ovie E yet?? I don't get why they always wait for these boys to blow up in the EPL before trying to get them to ...

Re: 1st half and Tammy is 2 goals up against Wolves.
Just seen Tammy's goals... very good finishes. He'd have been a good asset for Nigeria but the whole affair has been handled poorly. Not true. The boy's heart was always set on England and he likely felt it was only a matter of time since he scored just under 30 goals in the championship for Bristo...

Na wa ooo. This thread has now been hijacked into a "is Ahmed Musa a failure?" discussion.

Re: Tammy Abraham destroying Wolves
Fikayo Tomori also scores! Tammy seems to be entering into some good form (although Wolves haven't had the best start to the season, they are still a pretty good team). Not of relevance to the SE though as these are English registered players who are entirely committed to England.

Re: WHAT DO WE DO WITH AHMED MUSA NOW POST DNIPRO?
Funny thing about Musa is I think he has improved the mental/tactical aspects of his game. During the ANC is was generally making the right moves but the technical execution was letting him down badly. He still has a role to play in the team. I don't think Chukwueze is a set starter yet. I agree wit...

Re: The case for the "cockney eagles"
^^ Whether they end up becoming "world beaters" remains to be seen. But the one thing we know for sure is that they are BETTER than the local trained lads. So, does it not make sense to play the law of averages? To play the team that offers a HIGHER PROBABILITY of success? Anyone who can ...

Re: The case for the "cockney eagles"
^^^ My broda. How much can we improve the local academies? What is the process you suggest that Amaju adopt? The only thing that will work is an influx of a substantial amount of funds. Money is the only thing that will lure top trainers, coaches, and nutritionists to give up fat paychecks in Europ...

Re: The case for the "cockney eagles"
I don't think what you are saying is wrong however I think you may have missed the mark on the crucial point that I was making which is that the "merit" criteria is subjective. What I want is fair opportunity. If you can faith in the development of a 4th division playing foreign-born play...

Re: The case for the "cockney eagles"
I think it is important to stress that all these players regardless of where their footballing education took place are Nigerians. I couldn't care less if the SE starting line-up where filled with mostly foreign-born players-in fact I'm not really a fan of these terms. Algeria won the nations cup w...

Re: Joe Aribo starring for Nigeria lead to England tug of wa
When was the last time a player plying his trade in Scotland was invited to the England Squad? Off the top of my head, probably Fraser Forster (GK at Celtic at the time). Prior to that, maybe Paul Gascoigne and he was already an established member before his move to Rangers. I doubt the English FA e...

Re: The case for the "cockney eagles"
The best players should play period! I don't care whether they are cockney or Wawa Eagles. It's obvious that the likes of Iwobi, Aina, Aribo and if they choose to play for Naija, Ejaria, Tomori and Lookman are better than 90% of players raised in Nigeria. We haven't even mentioned the Bavarian Dutc...

Re: The case for the "cockney eagles"
It's too early to make the statement that Nigeria's most viable talents are the foreign-groomed (sample is too small). Maybe in 15 years time we can make a better assessment but as for now evidence shows that Nigeria's best talents are those that started their footballing education in Nigeria.

Re: THAT ONDO BOY: ARIBO IS WORLD CLASS
He slotted into the team well. Showed good composure on the ball and most importantly was making the right decisions. Whilst I knew he had such attributes, I honestly didn't expect him to look that comfortable at this level. He has definitely improved over the last 8 months. He looks like he has the...

Re: There is no Improvement
I thought the backline in the 1st half was all over the place. Struggled to cope with any off the ball movement. Despite the 2 goals conceded in the 2nd half, the defence were a more cohesive unit but still much work to do. I'm not sure we saw anything tactically different that we haven't seen from ...

Decent game +ves Osimhen played the lone striker role pretty well Uzoho looked confident and solid Full backs at he most part decent Aribo slotted into the team well (surprised me how comfortable he was). Simon Kalu gave us a glimps of the potential "X-factor" he may offer this team. -ves ...

Re: Tammy Abraham indirectly courting the SE?!
I don't see why it's difficult to see that Iwobi did indeed make the decision to play Nigeria ahead of England. A promising young player that had now been integrated into Arsenal senior set-up . He had a chance of eventually playing for England (I wouldn't say that season or even the next) but play...
