Re: ABEG Squadron. Report for duty!

In addendum…Trent is a paradox. Defensively susceptible but arguably one of the finest passes of a ball since the Psalm of DB7. Baseline quarterbacking for willing ride receivers. Few better players of the ball over the top. Operation PreventaPress.

Re: ABEG Squadron. Report for duty!

Pasted from another post, re: Best XI. Shaw out and Big George Gomez in. Very able defender. Guéhi an alternative but would imagine Gareth opts for Colvill. Now to the meat of matter. Gone are the days of overt, guard up, batten down the hatches. Offence is the best defence. Counter-press even bette...

Re: Europa League Final : Lookman vs Boniface & Tella ( 3-0) Lookman x3

Quietly goes about his business. All very well taken dispatches. The first, easily overlooked for its lack of grated cassava, boiled, stirred and served, however, the finish, spectacular. The opening up of his body and precision, textbook stuff. A far more arduous a task than most might assume.

Re: Dominic Solanke wants to play for Nigeria

Solanke, if allegiance pledged, walks into the squad and is handed an agbada with enough length in the sleeve to go full alhaji. Took some time to find his groove, definitely a beneficiary of Iraola's more direct approach. Most of all, had a good innings in the league of leagues, home of the bravest...

Re: ABEG Squadron. Report for duty!

Personally, would go left-field, 4-1-4-1: Pickford Shaw (if fit, if not, Gomez) Stones Walker (Yes, KW right centre!) Alex-Arnold Rice Gordon Bellingham (Championship Jude) Foden Saka Harrison Ogbunigwe TAA inverts to form the double pivot with Edgar Declan. Walker moves right of the back three, ver...

Re: Vincent Kompany has brought Burnley back to the Premier League!

Die Kaiser Vincent King Kompany I, of Bavaria. Early emissions suggest a verbal agreement reached, if finalised, its huge for Black coachdom. Risky, on both sides of the coin. Bayern have been taken to the riverbed by Tuchel, a third placed finish, unthinkable. Hopefully this isn't a Kwarteng else p...

Re: Chelsea FC- News, Developments & Season

If they’re foolish, let them listen to clamour for Kieran McKenna. The British are desperate to be part of the next wave of new age managers, the 30 somethings led by the like of Nagelsman and Amorim. McKenna is not of that ilk. As for Bayern, they’re considering Kompany. Blind bias throws one’s hat...

Kieran McKenna. Bold step if genuine. Surely with the egos on deck, Chelsea would want someone with a little more gravitas.

Bombs away Biggles. Gareth will stumble upon a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 with all the shapeshifting splendour of the Ichchhadhari Nag. Re: Eze makes England squad for the Euros. Henderson and Chilwell dropped

Dunk had a disastrous innings last time out. Hard to see him being given another chance. Grealish, Maddison, Toney, Quansah, Trafford. Though Southgate unlikely to take so many new faces. Wharton is probably out. Grealish in on experience. Eze and Gordon battling for the last space.

Re: Eze makes England squad for the Euros. Henderson and Chilwell dropped

Context. On the international stage, Bowen can’t play up top for England. And won’t bench any of the wide forward prospects. Yes, he’s a decent player but most likely behind Ollie Watkins and Saka, Foden, Gordon in the wide areas. One would go as far as saying Eze would be ahead of him out wide too....

Re: Eze makes England squad for the Euros. Henderson and Chilwell dropped

Ebubedike Okosisi Eze, will be on the plane, train or automobile. He is the closest thing Gareth Softgate has to Sterling, his once upon a time, regular go to. It would be ludicrous not to take him, versatility is another factor. Jarrod Bowen is the Andy Johnson/Kevin Philips of now. Absolutely not ...
