Re: We can beat CIV

We will get a minimum of four points from
Our last two matches. Maximum of six. No doubt.

There’s no way we keep missing eight to ten chances per game, again. Not possible.

Interesting AFCON fact every time Naija gets to the final

By the way, here's an interesting Stat. Almost every time that Naija makes it to the final of the AFCON, they draw a GROUP match. In some cases 2!! The only exception was 1990 were we were thrashed 5-1 by Algeria. 1980: 0-0, CIV, Winner 1984: 0-0, Algeria, Runner up 1988: 0-0, Cameroun, Egypt, Runne...

Re: Another Injury in Super Eagles Camp?

Some people are concerned about 27 players. Rules or no rules, people, let’s focus on the present. In the previous tournaments, you were only allowed 23. Furthermore for those that recall, in 2004, Agali, Aiyegbeni and Babayaro were kicked off the squad. WE STILL WERE ONE ODEMWINGIE PENALTY away fro...

Re: Boniface sweating to be fit for AFCON

I love Boniface but this is the best thing that can happen. Amokachie was Robin and Yekini was Batman. Between Boniface and Lookman I believe Osimhen’s Robin should be Lookman. The back up should be Moffi. This will give Nigeria a better chance at winning. MOVE ADEMOLA INSIDE. Keep Simon, Chukwueze ...

Re: Ndidi out of Afcon!! MF Crises?

Wilf is a leader but it’s time for the next man up. Before it is said and done a 4/3/3 midfield might include Iwobi, Onyedika and Yusuf.

Experience or not, that may actually be Nigerias most mobile and die hard midfield.

I am excited!!!

Re: Are the Super Eagles of Nigeria good enough to win Afcon 2024?

Talent has never won a tournament. It may however win qualifying games. If that was the criteria, Brazil would have won the 1982 World Cup, France would have won the 1986 Mundial and England or Cameron should have won the 199o edition. Big names and big clubs don’t win either. From my experience and...

Re: Verdict on Iwobi

Iwobi may not have grown to the degree that we want him too, however, he is an important player. When Iwobi scores, it’s usually serious and usually the game winner. Vs Zambia in Ndola, first WC qualifier Vs Argentina in 2017 Vs Zambia in 2018 qualifier in Uyo Vs Cameroon in 2019 AFCON knock out He ...

Re: RIP Philip Boamah

Great write up Dammy. Don’t forget Kennedy Daroah and our boy at Right back Joe Appiah. For a brief period, I was hoping that we would get Joseph Carr at Shooting. I saw him at Liberty on several occasions after the 1980 Nations Cup and recall the efforts of late Chief Salami to recruit him. I also ...

Re: Gabriel Osho

The case study in defense is the way Italy used the AC Milan back four of Costacurta, Maldivian, Baresi as the backbone of the Azuri. Being a talented center back does not equate to being a solid national team player. Oboabona and Omeruo worked well with Ambrose as a unit. Not because they were indi...

Hopefully, the Victors develop a tandem like Amokachi and Yekini. I’m unsure whether we have the midfield to sustain that kind of set up.

All I can say is that all three Fulham players of Naija decent deserve to be in the final 23.

Re: Umar Sadiq just scored a worldie

If we are being honest, on current form and stats (excluding wide forwards), our center forward ranking looks like this. Victor Osimhen Victor Boniface Taiwo Awoniyi Akor Adams Gift Orban Terem Moffi Chuba Akpom Cyril Dessers Umar Sadiq Only four can be selected. Obviously they have to be two pairs ...

Re: That spat between Nacho and Boniface

Saying that we have not seen such an intense exchange is inaccurate. Go back and watch the exchange between Mikel and Ighalo after the ref does not give a penalty to Nigeria for Argentina handling the ball from Musa’s cross.

Mikel practically punched him
In the chest and shoved him back.
