Re: How many world class players do we have?

Victor Osimhen, and maybe soon Victor Boniface. Behind them Bassey, Lookman.

Re: Man of the Match?

I would give it to Iheanacho.

Really lead the game and had great communication with Iwobi.

Re: Nigeria vs CIV (1-2) Ekong , Kessie, Haller FT

(Minor quibble but ref should have added one more minute due to the time wasting.)

Nwabali, Onyeka and Ekong stood out. Simon did good with the time he had. The rest? Not their day.

Re: Cape Verde vs South Africa (0-0) PK SA wins 2-1

To be honest the PKS from Cape Verde were horrible . Both teams were bad at PKs, however the goalie was class One of those penalties was good, two of those penalties were okish, one was poor. Those weren't horrible penalties. Not special, but Williams knew what he was doing & purposefully waite...

Previous two shoot outs with a total of zero goalkeeper saves... Williams alone with 4! And wasn't that far away from the 5th.

With all the other heavyweights out Mali - Cote d'Ivoire is the biggest 1/4 final match up.

Re: Nigeria become the top-ranked team in Cote d’Ivoire after South Africa shock Morocco

Beating Ivory Coast and Cameroon at the tournament will do wonders for our ranking. Both were already ranked below us. South Africa might actually move into the top 5 in Africa after beating Morocco. Actually, we might actually go down in FIFA rankings. South Africa was pretty low down the ...

Re: Nigeria become the top-ranked team in Cote d’Ivoire after South Africa shock Morocco

Nigeria is already up 8 places from 42 to 34. Pretty congested right above us, but three wins could get us as high as 25th. Nigeria is now the 3rd best team from Africa (Morocco 12th, Senegal 17th) as Egypt drops to 37th (down 6). Mali with a huge chance to overtake Egypt, but would need a few more ...

Re: Senegal vs CIV (1-1) Diallo, Kessie. CIV wins on PK

After two penalty shootouts no keeper has yet saved a penalty.

Very good penalty taking though, not really poor goalkeeping.

Also both PK finalists Egypt and Senegal from 2021 are out!

As it stands I would have to say favorites are:
1. Morocco
2. Nigeria
3. Cote d'Ivoire

Just thought I would note that 18 penalty kicks were taken and neither goalkeeper save a single shot.

Re: Peseiro Names AFCON 25 but NFF Wants 27

Calling up Mikel or Okocha when they were past their prime made sense because they left a gaping hole in the Super Eagles.

But Ahmed Musa? His status in the national team remains an enigma.

For a moment I wasn't sure if that final touch was on purpose or by accident...

But so this and yeah... Osimhen meant everything!
