Re: Local Vs Foreign Coach Debate. Data and Statistics since 1980
What variables? Rohr had to take us to FIFA court to get paid. His players were owed months of salary Pesseiro and his players were also owed for months before the govt settled it just before AFCON. Yeah but they were both allowed to be based in Europe and they had money .. even if they were never ...

Re: Alex Iwobi to retire from the SE?
Did he actually say he was retiring or are people reading into his social media activities more than they should . Dude may just be taking a social media break In any case its not uncommon for players to indicate their retirement after a tournament disappointment only to come back to the fold . I re...

Re: Thank You SE
Una did well. You had to dig yourselves out of a massive hole after the Zim/Lesotho debacle to once again become one of the best in Africa. Nobody believed you had a chance but yourselves. You dug deep and did the work. unfortunately, in a game of margins, you fell just short. As a long time fan, t...

Re: Nwakali and That Free Kick - Echoes of Rufai 98
I think we all can agree that Nwakali is the man . No argument there . However that almost last minute freekick he parried right into a South Afrcan players path brought back some Painful memories of Rufai against Denmark 98 and his repeated failures to parry away . Thankfully the south african boo...

Re: VAR team quiet until after the 2nd goal...
One of the downfalls of VAR is a tendency to interpret things black and white. It's legitimate to think players will put parts of their body in the way of a defender trying to make a natural play to get a penalty. Yusuf didn't see Tau and was going to clear the ball but Tau was quicker and put his ...

Re: VAR team quiet until after the 2nd goal...
Does it matter if it was deliberate or accidental? Other than hand ball cases, a foul in the 18 will result in a Pk. When Eguavoen clumsy self landed on the Italian player wasn’t a PK given? Well again the rules says it does https://www.footballrules.com/offences-sanctions/fouls/ **Obstruction is w...

BAP, look at the except that you quoted, and reproduced below: **Obstruction is when a player moves into an opponent’s path to block, slow down or force a change of direction when neither player can play the ball. It is not a foul if players are already in each other’s space and an accidental colli...

Nah. ..watch it from multiple angles. Yusuf was late getting to the space the ball was played to. The angle that I saw during the came shows Yusuf behind him and slightly to the left. Here is the video. https://dubz.co/v/810xh8 Yusuf was clearly late and hit his leg. Yeah in slow motion he looks la...

Re: VAR team quiet until after the 2nd goal...
It was the right call. Referee and VAR were impeccable yesterday. I’m a bit surprised that the referee missed the Yusuf penalty incident as he was very close and seemed really clear even on live TV. However, he was always in control and firm. I have been super impressed with referees at this AFCON....

While I recognize that the weather is cold, it doesn't justify drinking oneself to stupor. Its not alcohol that's his issue TBH. Its excessive masturbation which has been known to cause delirium. Nigerians have taken all the good Kenyan ladies and left him with nothing so he impulsively masturbates...

The Umar Sadiq case shakes Nigeria despite success against Ivory Coast. The 26-year-old striker was forced to give up the African Cup due to a knee problem encountered a few days before the start of the competition. Back in San Sebastian for further investigation, the former Roma player played agai...

Re: Let’s play with 2 strikers
We can't keep shape shifting in panIc mode all the time. Eventually we have to find a system and perfectly it over time. The 343 gives us one of our best defenses in modern times. The attack will follow, it's just a matter of time. Imagine if went to all our previous wc knowing how to defend a 1 go...
