NIGERIA VS GHANA: Bamako, Mali - Feb 3, 2002 ('80th Minute) Nigeria: One minute later it is Aghahowa again, he cuts inside into the penalty area, his cross is intercepted this time but the clearance is bad and finds the feet of unchallended Garba Lawal who fires directly from 22 meters. The most effective player of all time for naija: Garba Lawal. You do not play for your national team for over 10 years by just being a crap player. Player, you a full of crap for abusing Garba lawal. I guess if he was a senseless dribbler, you will count him as one of the greatest of all time. :rol...

GT, presently I don't know of any Nigerian in the Brazilian league - but I have heard of the young guy, Abubakar, in Internacional though he is yet to feature for their first team. There is one Obina in Fl...

Re: No indegenous coach could do well with our attitude
We tend to forget that a foreign coach only has visibility of the Nigerians playing in Europe - he knows NOTHING of local players or the local scene. Furthermore an FC selection will be much more conservative than a Nigerian coach. You might be trying to develop some good points but the point above...

Nigeria and Football Association
I have personally come to some realisations on Nigerian football which I will like to share on this forum. It might not be as articulate as I intended, but the message will surely be communicated. * I think our NFA is a true reflection of the effective state of soccer administration in Nigeria - NON...

The current first-teamers they displace will be extremely displeased. This displeasure will definitely stem out to other players in the team, especially since they are mostly British and would gang up against foreigners, worse still if they hardly even have a grasp of the English Language. Alan Par...

SE: Friendly Matches - An Approach
I think Nigeria should adopt an approach of assemblying and arranging a friendly match with some neighbouring countries within a week of any important engagement - this could be prosecuted by the early birds mixed with some home-based newly discovered young lads. This I believe will be of immense be...

Re: NIGERIA DON'T TREAT LOCAL COACHES WELL.....EGUAVOEN
Super Eagles chief coach, Austen Eguavoen is not happy with the way local coaches are being treated claiming poor remuneration is responsible for the seemingly low productivity , reports Chigozie Chukwuleta in Abuja. Eguavoen during the post match interview after his team defeated Niger 2-0 said th...

When the news of the signing of the Argentina duo filtered in, I stated clearly on a thread here that I am cocksure that West Ham Utd did not pay a dime on Tevez and Mascherano. It was the same arrangement that brought Tevez, Mascherano and Seba to Corinthians last year. To the guys that were saying...

Tell me how resigning will improve the system? Thank you for that question cchinukw. If Eguavoen resigns, on the basis of non-adherence to the terms of his contract - the FA will find another local 'scapegoat' coach to employ. Like a programming loop, since it's the same FA, the scenario will repea...

Some guys are not facing issues here. If Eguavoen is being owed and it is affecting his output - he should demand for his wages or resign! Anything short of that is an indication that he is part of the system. The development is not hurting him alone, it is hurting the progress of our national team....
