Re: Relegation battle - The elephant in the room

The other question is, if some of these guys teams get dropped, which of them will be bought by other PL teams and which ones will be playing championship footy or transferring away from England.

Re: Questian: When Was the Last Time Nigeria Eagles were Fun to watch?

We have had some exciting games here and there. But without being too nostalgic I haven’t felt that consistent sense of “anything is possible excitement” since we had JJ in the team. Since those days we have improved in terms of less chaotic preparations and player revolts etc..but we haven’t had tr...

Re: Rohr's record in competitive matches with Nigeria

It’s also a matter of expectation vs performance as well as the importance of the games Rohr was given a lot of support, time and had a decent crop of players to work with - so towards the end he was underperforming and had to go Amodu on the other hand I think deserves more empathy because he often...

Intensity

During the half time break of the Naija match they were showing highlights of other games with the likes of Zambia, Uganda etc. The teams played fast with intensity When you watch our u20 teams etc they play fast with intensity When you watch EPL (where a lot of our players play) the games are playe...

Re: 8 games to victory - New FIFA World Cup format

We have never won a knockout match at the World Cup since we started playing almost 30 years ago. The round of 32 may be our chance to break this streak and perhaps build some momentum into the later stages. Although any World Cup game is tough, the knockout games in particular require another level...

8 games to victory - New FIFA World Cup format

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64952428 Based on the newly announced format (and assuming the SE can qualify from Africa), our buys would have to make it through 8 games (instead of the former 7) in order to lift the World Cup. There is now a “round of 32” to get past before reaching the round...

I see that training our youth in the tradition of “golden bronze” is well in track..let’s hope they can complete the job 😀

Re: Victor Osimhen simulation

We must remember that there is skill involved in creating lots of chances too - it doesn’t just happen

If Osimhen starts scoring the majority of chances he gets he will not be world class..he will be legendary. And the good thing is he still has time on his side for that to happen

gochino wrote: Sat Mar 04, 2023 8:43 am He will perform well in Manu, his pressing game fits perfectly to their style but the only issue is that Manu don't play with a permanent traditional 9, they usually rotate that position, so Osimhen will likely play less games.
But will he still want to go to Man U after today? 🤔

Re: Iheanacho's football intelligence is 2nd to none!

Kele does well when has our strikers around him. Vic likes to be the point man - get him the ball to finish. So I’m not sure if there’s a good system that will accommodate both of them on the field at the same time. I think the bigger issue we have to solve first is how to make the most of Vic. How ...

Iwobi..

He has been a solid, consistent performer for Everton but unfortunately the club is not doing well. He’s very much a confidence player and Lampard has shown faith in him but how long will Lampard last? Should he move? If so where to? Is there a better club where he can continue to thrive?

Re: What a tragedy

What I’m saying is that on paper their team is not made up of 11 superstars. But we saw that it doesn’t matter because the players rose to the occasion and played very well as a team. Our super eagles on paper can match or be even better than that Morocco team - but when it comes to playing it’s a d...

Re: What a tragedy

Every time we have a bad performance people start looking for some new set of foreign based / foreign born players to solve all our problems. Morocco played with unity, focus and national pride and a couple of great players and see where they got to. Until we solve the underlying passion and approac...

Re: IHEANACHO

No type of play is “dead”. You can play any formation and make it work if you play it well and adapt as needed as the game progresses. You need to have several formations in your pocket and bring them out as needed
