Just be careful how you raise your kids, be firm but please be there for them and try and get to know them....the ancient Naija way won't work especially in the West....understand your kid, the environment, their strengths and weaknesses.

Half of University of Texas track and field team have Nigerian names ... at least it looks that way from the last big 12 track meet I watched. These are future Olympians. Nigeria should make concerted effort to convince them to represent Nigeria like we currently do in soccer. Why represent a faile...

Re: NIGERIA VS BRAZIL
So Coach Ayo Bakare had the same impact as Coach Voigts....hmmm... Not exactly. One won the AfroBasket for us for the first time. I agree with Ugbowo regarding the coach. The team was out hustled most times and that wasn't an X and O issue. It was a lack of motivation problem. But I think with time...

So Coach Ayo Bakare had the same impact as Coach Voigts....hmmm... Voigts is a great X & O coach but as a leader and motivator he was terrible. The timeouts were always X & O. Sometimes the guys just need a pick me up. Bakare was good at motivation but was not so good at X & O....but he...

Excellent win, good game for Umeh, Akgonon and Ere to light up. More consistency and we will be even better. Very reminiscent of 2006 when we beat Serbia in the World Championships, back then Serbia were the defending champions, also back then, the same Ere and Akognon made big shots.

Same old story, the potential is there but if we don't do all we can to secure the big guns eligible for Nigeria, we will remain a basketball team that always comes short.

@F360, sorry i'm not in Houston, the coverage is by one of my friends based in the States. Wish I could be there though but too many things going on. As for Al Farouq, definitely insurance was an issue but I also have a feeling that there were some character issues from what i've heard over the years.

Re: Rio Olympics: Nigeria invites 27 basketball stars to cam
Now getting info that insurance might be a problem for Al Farouq, possibly same problem with Festus. Insurance could cost anything from $30000 per player. If someone from the sports ministry can't foot this bill it will make it very difficult for us to go after NBA players. But we had an NBA player...
