Re: Kobbie Mainoo and 🇬🇭 Ghana

The boy is on a meteoric rise. The debate on United app now is if he will make Euro 2024. I just hope he has good people around him to keep his feet on the ground. It only gets harder now that he’s a known quantity.

Re: LIST OF PLAYERS THAT MUST NEVER BE INVITED HENCEFORTH:

SMH…. Peeps just want to throw away experienced players like you can buy them at Walmart. Ekong was supposed to be a finished, over the hill, tired leg. He ended up being our best player at AFCON. Di Maria was meant to be finished and past his sell by date at the WC, he ended being the reason Argent...

Scoring early then hanging for dear life is not a strategy. If you want to play not to lose, then you have to keep the ball.

It's not just about local or foreign coach or colonial mentality, there's also exposure and competence. Get a cook currently cooking in a backyard with thatched roof cover, clay pots and firewood. He will bang out excellent efo riro, gbegiri, afang, ofe onugbu, jollof rice etc. Now put the same coo...

Re: Segun ODEGAMI Denounces colonial Mentality and calls for Nigerian-born Manager for SE....

The problem is that people mistakenly arrogate football a status that it does not have even when imagined. Football is not sophisticated. Sure, there are many things about it that no human can control. You control only the little parts that are controllable and part isn't that much nor is it sophis...

Re: Ola Aina Played AFCON 2023 Final with Injury, Nottingham Forest Coach Says

The issue is simple. Did Aina hide his injury or not? Nobody here should be surprised by Ekong’s injury. We discussed it here and he was a doubt for the next games but we were glad he made it, just like Nwabali. Ekong didn’t hide anything and it’s a given in football that players play on with injur...

Re: Peseiro watches English-born Super Eagles-eligible player (Sylvester Jasper) in Benfica's win

A none story, was thinking Peseiro made a comment about him or something. The writer is just desperate to write or fronting for an agent. A good journalist would have gone thru proper channels for the press to reach peseiro and ask what he thinks. The man probably watches hundreds of games, wonder h...

Re: Ola Aina Played AFCON 2023 Final with Injury, Nottingham Forest Coach Says

A player playing an important game with injury only shows commitment if the situation is transparent with the medics and coaching staff. Else it’s selfishness, dereliction of duty and foolishness combined. The latter seems to be the case as Peseiro in an interview blamed the loss on youth and inexpe...

Re: Could not score against Ghana in 2 games to take us to the WC, one goal in 7 games at the AFCON

Perhaps he should have taken the two penalties Ekong took? But Ekong delivered so not an issue. Those two were a path to 2 goals, assists and overall impact. When you add 4 disallowed goals and the team getting to the final, he's definitely on it. This is a case where stats don't tell the whole stor...

Re: Could not score against Ghana in 2 games to take us to the WC, one goal in 7 games at the AFCON

But he scores for fun at his club. Why is that? 34 caps 21 goals. I would say he scores for fun for Nigeria as well. Plus he had 4 disallowed goals. He's definitely got it and did what was asked of him upfront very well. He also had an impact in almost all our goals. Like him or not, there's no Nig...

Re: Video interview: Peseiro - Why the Eagles played defensively

Not happy with Peseiro's response. Seems like he felt young players, the atmosphere and occasion led to mistakes and underperformance. Question is what did he do when this was unfolding? This was the AFCON final, a chance to win the most coveted trophy in Africa. If the young players were having a b...

Re: Alex Iwobi to retire from the SE?

It's a divisive narrative emerging here that foreign born players are somehow more subject to abuse than nigerian born ones. I don't think there's data to back that up, difference might just be in reporting or response. But in any case, it's one of those things that needs to be proven as on the surf...

Re: Alex Iwobi to retire from the SE?

Mental strength is key in this business and Alex wouldn’t be playing at this level for over 9 years if he was weak. When I said this earlier, Damunk said i should stop talking about mental weakness. In this sport, speak to any player who is a winner and they will tell you about mental strengt...

Re: Alex Iwobi to retire from the SE?

As fans of the game I think there needs to be a fine line that shouldn’t be crossed. We have people here who wish death on forumers for the egregious crime of daring to have a different opinion from them. Others who act like they are in kindergarten and move from thread to thread like lustful troll...
