Re: Kelechi Nwakali…

You are right there fella. Eguavoen and other SE coaches told Nwakali to create only 13 assists in 8 years, and to get booked 3-4 times as much as he assists. They also forced him to spend 95+% of his career playing for reserve and 2nd division teams. If that’s what you think; has it ever crossed yo...

Re: Kelechi Nwakali…

We can also add Bartholomew "1 bicycle kick that went wide" Ogbeche to the list of 🇳🇬 players that CE thinks are Ballon D'or worthy, yet have journeymen careers. wiseone, Nwakali's legend is only IMAGINED. :rotf: :rotf: You remember, Rabiu Ibrahim? If you do, Nwakali has long become the ne...

Re: Kelechi Nwakali…

On this forum I keep hearing how Nwakali has incisive passing and can play a killer ball. Yet strangely, such alleged passing skills have led to only 13 goals for teammates in the nearly 200 games he has played in his career. 5 different SE coaches have had the chance to pick him, yet none of them h...

Re: Kobbie Mainoo and 🇬🇭 Ghana

This makes Manchester United’s purchase of Mason amount even more inexplicable (especially as United paid 55 million for a player in the last year of his contract 📑- AND who plays in the same position as Mainoo, Fernandes, Eriksen, and Van de Beek). Why on earth did they do that when they knew they ...

Re: Kelechi Nwakali…

Nigeria lost the AFCON final because Ivory Coast had 3 central midfielders while Nigeria had only 2, Ivory Coast was at home and had a racuous home crowd behind them, and because after noticing that they were outnumbered in midfield, Nigeria did not adjust its tactics or change its 3-4-3 formation. ...

Re: Kelechi Nwakali…

Excellent. Ok, you win: he is not an AM. What use does the SE have for yet another holding midfielder that does not score or assist? The SE already has a surplus of options in that area (Ndidi, Onyeka, Onyedika, Yusuf) Thinking he is an AM is where you made the first mistake, anybody that has actual...

Re: That layoff by Iwobi to Lookman for the 2nd goal

Did anyone notice that after Nigeria 🇳🇬 scored the 2nd goal, a Ghanaian defender picked the ball out of the net and kicked it against the celebrating Nigerian players?

Re: Kelechi Nwakali…

Every single time an SE squad is announced, there is massive clamour for him to be called up as if he is the second coming of Okocha or KDB. His career track record is not overwhelming. He: -has scored a grand total of 13 goals in his entire career as a professional footballer (8 years) despite bein...

The only number 9 ahead of him is Osimhen. The rest are yet to prove nothing wearing GWG.

Some of the people you have listed are not number 9s.

Solanke played ONE friendly international match for England 7 years ago, and thus remains eligible for Nigeria.

Agreed. He is actually Luton's most dangerous attacker and has electrifying speed.
The YeyeMan wrote: Thu Mar 21, 2024 11:57 am Ogbene is the Luton player I'd be more interested in but he's already played for Ireland. This is a guy born in Nigeria.

You are right/I was wrong. There are actually 10 strikers ahead of him. 1 and 2) the two Victors 3) Awoniyi 4) Moffi 5) Iheanacho 6) Orban 7) Sadiq 8) Adams 9) Solanke 10) Dessers He is a slimmer (and slightly faster) version of Onuachu. He is a slimmer (and slightly faster) version of Onuachu. There are about 8 strikers ahead of him in the pecking order behind Osimhen.

I will take him in a heart beat. He brings us a difference option to what we have currently. he's more of the old-fashioned #9.
