If ZZ were not in the line up, no way would Henry have performed as he has. Let's face it, Henry is a very good player when fed passes into isolated, long distance situations where he can use his speed and finishing. He has trouble in close quarters, especially against quality defenses. Most of all,...

the guy hasnt done anything during the whole season at madrid ( being benched constantly) and after 2 good displays he is hailed as the " the messiah"! a beg zidane is surely one of the best players the world has seen in the last 15 years, but his world cup performance whateva it is canno...

And Guys This Brazilian team and Ronaldo are superb in their own right. France and Zizou were simply better. I give credit where credit is due and won't tarnish France with demonizations of Brazil and Ronaldo. Some of us were wrong in writing of France, myself included. But, let's not get foolish a...

Mike See the following: http://forum.cybereagles.com/viewtopic.php?p=979201&highlight=#979201 I discussed why England failed. Suffice to say, never again will I believe in them until they prove it. For me, they're in a class with Spain. As for France, sure, I didn't think they could beat Brazil...

Today he was simply supreme. He reminded us that he is the best player of his generation...and one of the all time greats, worthy of comparison to names like DiStefano, Platini, and Eusebio.

He made me eat humble pie, as I thought his best days were gone.

England Wanted To and Deserved To Lose Well, I am sad because I choose England as my sentimental favorite the rest of the way. I really wanted to see them play in the semis. However, too many long term deficiences all came to a head in this game. One: SGE is not a competent enough coach for this le...

Well done to France. This was a special victory, punctuated by the special play of one of football's greatest legends...namely, Zinedine Zidane.

Without him, France is a decent team. With him, they are a world cup contender.

Putting on a defensive sub while holding a slender 1-0 lead against Germany wasn't only stupid, but suicidal. Ask the French team of 1982 which included Platini what Germany did to them when they tried to hold on to a 3-1 lead in extra time. Pekerman obviously has a short WC memory. Germany has an ...

Deciiva I was actually being ironic in proclaiming Odonkor as German...describing how German-like he plays, how Germany's footballing system molded him into the player he is. But now that you mention it, strictly speaking, he is German...at least 1/2 biologically and fully by nationality. Ch...

Ferrari Klose never scored in the knock out stage of a WC. This is a new turn in his evolution. I completely disagree regarding Lahm. He is superb in every which way, even improving his defensive game. He is growing more confident and taking greater initiative in attacking down the flanks, exactly ...

Both teams were worthy of a win. For me, penalties are really a coin toss. However, I think Argentina ultimately lost because of 3 factors: One: they handed tactical initiative over to Germany after going up 1 - 0, which really surprised me. Two: extremely poor substitutions by Pekerman. Why bring i...

Viera is a warrior. Put him into a Roman amphitheatre full of gladiators and Patrick will emerge unscathed. Tendai You're basically insinuating that Kaka is a token white boy on a team filled with blacks. Sorry, I just don't see this.
