Re: MIKEL IN CIV WITH DROGBA,KALU
When you really think about it, Mikel is the most accomplished Nigerian football player ever. No other Nigerin player has come close to what he accomplished in his club career, he also took Nigeria as far as we’ve ever gone at the WC and won Afcon with a team that wasn’t that good on paper. Salute ...

Re: Cameroon to play Russia on 12th of October
Why does Russia need a friendly game?
They're not allowed to compete in any competition.

Here are my favorites to win Morocco Algeria Nigeria Senegal Egypt CIV Egypt has been the only North African team to take the AFCON seriously when held outside North Africa. My favorites to win are: Senegal CIV Egypt I don't see how Nigeria can win the AFCON without even a half-decent goalkeeper.

Reminiscent of Rohr :rotf: :rotf: The coach seems happy just to be there. :rotf: He should be reminded that Bendel Insurance is a team that has already won a continental cup. If you think about it, going there "to participate" is actually even worse than going "to learn". He eve...

Re: Which country has historically produced the most fearsome strikers?
As much as I don't like Argentina, you have to give them credit.
I'll include all their players that are known for scoring lots of goals.
Messi, Maradona, Batistuta, Caniggia, Balbo, Aguero, Crespo, and Kempes (at his peak between '74 and '81).

Re: Rohr's Benin Republic failed to qualify for AFCON
This is a man some geniuses here consider the best coach ever for Nigeria. This doesn't make sense. So any "great" coach will go to Benin and qualify them for nation's cup or world cup irrespective of other key factors? I don't understand. Ahidjo Not necessarily, but consider: 1. Benin Re...

Re: Why was PESEIRO offered Big Contract INITIALLY???
You conveniently left out the fact that Pinnick hired Oliseh and Siasia to coach the SE even before Rohr. In all, FOUR Nigerian coaches failed him - Keshi, Oliseh, Siasia, and Eguavoen! The idea that he was focused on a foreign coach does not match his actions. He wanted a local coach, but ...

Re: Arsene Wenger Calls Nigeria 🇳🇬 “one of the great under achievers in world football”
We've not managed to reach the quarter-final of a world cup even though several of our regional peers have reached it - Cameroon, Senegal, and Ghana. Talk less of Morroco reaching the semis. SE is a major underachiever in Africa and the world.

What to do now? We have Uzoho in Cyprus, he’s our highest ranking goalie in terms of experience and quality. Afcon is months away, WC qualifiers are around the corner too. We’re all excited about the number of attacking players available but who are the goalies we can depend on? Uzoho - He’s okay b...

Y'all need to relax. We have many national teams and the Super Falcons is just one of them. I'm sure the Golden Eaglets will even dismantle them. So, they're one of our lowest national teams.

How can Egu demand that anybody reach Afcon semi and qualify for the WC with a straight face? :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: No wonder this taking forever. ...

Good to see some of you guys waking up. I see you've finally recognized that we were in a position where we couldn't get that much better in a short space of time. We needed to shore up what we had instead of completely overhauling it. My own "Aha moment" came in 2010 when Amodu was fired....

Re: Caf 2026 world cup (Nigeria, SA, Benin(****), Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho)
South Africa is the real danger for Nigeria. If we can contain SA, we’re in❗️ Cheers. The question is: Which other team is a danger to SA apart from Nigeria in case Nigeria slips to SA? All of them. South Africa are likely to drop points in almost every away match. I fancy Nigeria to pick up more p...

BTW, this competition was played too early and most of the bigger teams were caught napping.
The Olympics is not until the summer of next year. They qualified for the Olympics over a year before the first match on 24th July 2024. Normally it should have been around November.

Re: African U23 Nations Cup
These guys have many lives. Even the loser of the 3rd place match (Guinea) can still qualify for the Olympics if they win their playoff game against an AFC team. Mali qualified yesterday. They beat Guinea after PKs. Final is a one all tie at the half. Egypt is down one man after their goal scorer w...
