Mutiu Adepoju belongs in the first team. So does Ikpeba IMHO.

True that; Ikpeba in place of the grandfather--Osondu; and Adepoju for Oruma.

Killer line up all the same.

Remember Balo that this making the first team is based solely on what they did as under 17 and 21/20 players not career achievement.

Osondu was more electrifying and deadly as a an Under 17 than Victor Nosa. Nosa was less than Lustre against Saudi in the Semi final match in Scotland 89. Osondu was the man in Canada [?] 87 (under 17) and Saudi 89 (under 20).

Where is Stephen Keshi and Henry Nwosu? No list is complete without Nwosu.

Which year did they play? I did not pick the list based on career achievements. Because if that was the case Augustine Okocha would have made the team since he played in Mauritius 1993. I also considered Emmanuel Amunike but he played in Cairo 1991 so he did not meet the "fifa age group tourney" criterium.

Gemini
Who would Mutiu depose? Oruma of Japan 1993? Etim Esin of Chile 1989? Okorowanta of 1983? or Dimeji Lawal of 1987 and 1989?

Mystic: not only that, the list left out Nosa Osadolor, Fatai Atere ( he made back to back age grade competition finals), Sanni Adamu (gazelle of Jos). How can anyone miss Adeolu Adekola ( score amazing goals to get Naija to win the Tessema cup for keep. The likes of Chris Ohenhen (that fantastastic goals in Saudi!) sure deserves a place or mention. Chris Nwosu (scored a Maradona like goal in Saudi taking the ball from the center field, dribbling 4-5 oppos b\4 scoring the best goal in Saudi. What about Aikhonbare? Monday Odiaka scored the fastest goal in U21 tournament...that record still stands...

The best thing is to asked for nominations for each position:
Defense
Midfield
Attack

...and then ask for votes....Ikpeba played well in Scotland but they came out empty handed, no thanks to Saudi gk.

Fegwu:

Henry Nwosu is arguably Nigeria's best ever attacking midfielder at age grade level (although Etim Esin would give him a run for his money). And it was his exploits on the Flying Eagles that got him into the national team ahead of the 1980 Cup of Nations. Keshi was also a great Junior International before he became national team player. I want to say that they were members of the 1979 & 1981 Flying Eagles respectively, but my memory could be failing me.

As FF stated, one would be remiss in ommitting Fatai Atere from an all time squad.

It is hard to fit everybody in. I understand the sentiments behind the names you mentioned but they did not do enough imho to depose those chosen especially in the starting in part because they did not do enough at the ultimate stage the appropriate age group WC of note.

Atere was good but not that good. He did okay in 1985 but did not do jack diddle in 1989. I considered him but I thought he was overrated. He was later rumoured to be a thief. He was talented but overrated.

Adeolu turned out to be overrated in Chile 87. I considered him for the starting lineup but later declined. His hype was huge in 86-87 but he did not live up to it. Nosa Osadolor should be a notable mention imho.

In all it not euphoria or the hype alone that surrounded these players what the contributed to their teams. It is hard any way you look at it to pick a thoroughly acceptable list.

A brand spanking new notable mention - Dele Aiyenugba; the ultimate stopper (specialist extradordinare). :)
