1st match with Siena: Emeghara scores 1 and gets a penalty!

Post by bature »

Inno Emeghara, who was loaned from Lorient to last placed serie A club, Siena, scored in his debut in a league match against Inter and got a penalty for his team later, which was converted by a team mate. Siena won 3:1. Swiss International Emeghara is in top form and may soon be called back by Swiss coach Hitzfeld. In an interview to Swiss Paper "Blick", Emeghara said, he was benched throughout at Lorient, after a good beginning with several goals to his credit, because he made appearance for the Swiss Olympic team, against the order of the Lorient coach. He had several offers, among others, from Düsseldorf, Siena and Swiss teams. He decided for Siena, as they have a strong team and do not deserve to be placed last. Well, he may make the difference in that team. As a bottom team to beat Inter is no small achievement. Up Inno!

I don't think you can compare the 2. Emeghara was 10 when he came to Switz. He feels like a Swiss and as well as a Nigerian. He already has played for the Swiss senior national team. African players are regulars in the Swiss team (Djourou, Gelson Fernandes). Emeghara, with his speed - if he improves on tactical and technical - will also become a regular in the Swiss team. With his young age of 23 (nobody should doubt his age please), time is on his side. He took his chance in the Swiss team. It would have been difficult foir him to penetrate the current Naija-team. I like, what the guy did. He is not a super star, but he makes maximum use of his abilities

If that's the case then he has the moral right to play for Switzerland. But this is still a Nigerian Forum, and with the SE in the ANC semis, this is very unimportant news!

You are very right. It's just coincidence that it is SE peak-time, ut I just felt to inform, cos such news don't trickle easily through and to me it was worth a mention. And no offence, to me, it definitely concerns the CE forum as well.
